Great little diner in a wonderful little town. I've been going here for years and there ownership change fairly recently. Surprisingly though, the food was still really good and I couldn't complain! The prices did increase slightly but everything has gone up in price. I got the steak and it was cooked perfectly. I think it was beef sourced from a local farm, but I wasn't all that impressed with the quality of the beef. It was still excellent for what I paid, but not amazing. The hash browns were phenomenal and the egg was cooked perfectly as well. The nostalgia of this place is like going back in time 20 years. Getting up early and grabbing breakfast or a coffee here is a tradition before you head up the mountain to fish, hunt, snowmobile or just pass through this small town. You can't beat it! Check it out!

This is a super cute diner (it’s called cafe, but it’s more like an old time diner). It’s family run and owned and has a really quaint atmosphere. The food was pretty good, sides were a hit or miss, but the pie a la mode was best. I had the triple berry pie and it was fantastic! They have two seating areas, and in my opinion the front room is best as it has tons of windows and a little bar stool area, whereas the back feel a bit more stuffy and darker to me. Overall we had a really good time here as a family and when we’re in town we plan on coming again!

Being a person who eats at restaurants across the US with hundreds of thousands of views of them....please stay far away from this place. I have NEVER had food that not only looked horrible but tasted even worse! Besides that, their prices are out of the effin world! 4 of us. Food inedible. Cost me 76.34. This place should be shut down in my opinion. You can clearly tell that they NEVER change their grease and the language used in the back by the "so-called" cook and waitresses is absured!! Updated with photo. Yuck! I'd like my money back!

I love to try quaint little hometown cafe's. This one was clean, the staff was young, but friendly. I asked how good the roast beef dinner was and was told by the waitress that she'd "not tried it but heard it was really good", so I ordered it. I chose a salad for the side order that was included with the dinner. It came out fresh and was delicious. I thought ok this will be good, like a home cooked meal. My dinner of roast beef and gravy over buttered toast came with mashed potatoes/gravy and corn. It was a good sized portion. The meat had an odd smell, and a slight grayish color that was a little off-putting, but I tried it anyway. I was hoping for a savory mouthful of meat and gravy but got more of an unusual flavor...not sure if the meat was old, or had been frozen and reheated, but it didn't taste very fresh, and also lacked seasonings. It was tender, but I was disappointed. The potatoes and corn were alright but also lacked seasonings. The gravy, unfortunately tasted like the meat and was a little thick and gelatinous.

I gave a rating of 3 because my husband ordered the French toast with eggs and bacon. He ate every bite and said it was delicious. I even tried a bite and agreed. Apparently breakfast foods are available all day, which should have been my first clue.

I overheard a lady at the table across from us ask the same waitress if the chicken fried steak was any good. She replied, "i haven't tried it, but I heard it was really good".....sound familiar? Her dinner came out looking just like mine with the same thick, glopy gravy atop her chicken fried steak and potatoes. We didn't stick around long enough to see if she finished her dinner, but I saw her eating some of her husband's breakfast meal. Maybe next time I'll try breakfast instead... We come through this little town a few times a year. I'll give it another try. Maybe i just made a bad choice. But I'll skip...

Our group of 14 visited this restaurant for a meal. Upon arrival, we were directed to the back room, as it had larger tables. However, there still wasn’t a table big enough to accommodate our group, so we moved an additional table to the end to ensure we could all sit together.

About 10 minutes later, while our waitress was taking our order, an older employee (whom we later learned was the owner’s sister) came in and rudely reprimanded the waitress in front of us for the tables being moved. We immediately clarified that it was our group who moved the tables, not the waitress. Despite this, she turned her anger toward us, loudly stating that moving the tables was not allowed.

It was highly unprofessional to reprimand an employee in front of customers, and her tone and behavior toward us were completely inappropriate and unnecessary. Later, as we stood near the front door to settle our bill and prepare to leave, she approached us again and yelled at us to move away from the door. Her behavior throughout our visit was rude and unpleasant.

On top of that, the food itself was disappointing. My biscuits were undercooked, and the portion of hashbrowns was extremely small (approximately a quarter-cup). While we ate our food, we couldn’t help but feel uneasy, wondering if the hostility we experienced might have affected the preparation of our meals.

On a positive note, our waitress was excellent—attentive and polite despite the challenging circumstances.

We've come to this place for over 40 years. But it's...

SHADY!!!

My boyfriend and I recently visited Fairview and ate at this cafe more than once as it was directly across the street from our motel. The food is okay and somewhat overpriced, but it's a very small town.

After returning home my boyfriend was notified that a large charge was coming through on his AMEX and saw it was for $632 from this cafe. The actual amount we spent here was $32 including tip.

He immediately called AMEX to dispute the charge and was told they could see the original charge of $32 but when this cafe sent their receipts in someone wrote a 6 in front of the $32 total my boyfriend had written on the receipt. They fixed the issue and said they would be investigating further.

He then contacted the cafe and asked to speak to a manager but of course none was available and despite leaving his name and number no one has called him back, it's been three days.

Seems like they have some shady untrustworthy employees and if you want to try and rip someone off, probably not a smart move to increase the...
