I don’t know what kind of sorcery Papa’s Pizzeria is working with, but they’ve turned pizza into something almost otherworldly. From the moment it hit the table, I could tell this wasn’t going to be a casual meal. The crust had that perfect balance—crispy on the outside, soft and airy inside, with just the right amount of char to make it dangerously addictive.
Then there’s the sauce. It’s not just sauce; it’s a slow, deliberate build of flavor that lingers long after each bite. A subtle sweetness hits first, followed by a bold punch of herbs and spices that makes you stop and pay attention. And the cheese? Well, it doesn’t just sit there. It stretches, it pulls, it acts. Like it knows exactly what it’s doing to you.
But the real magic is in the toppings. Every ingredient feels like it’s been carefully chosen, like it had to prove its worth before earning a spot on the pie. The toppings aren’t ordinary, no there robust, with just enough spice to make your mouth tingle. The vegetables? Fresh, crisp, and bursting with flavor, almost as if they were plucked from some enchanted garden. The whole thing is a symphony of delicious flavors exploding in your mouth.
It’s the kind of pizza that makes you rethink what pizza can be. It’s bold without being arrogant, indulgent without being over the top. And as you take each bite, there’s this quiet voice in the back of your head asking, How is this even allowed to be this good?
Papa’s Pizzeria isn’t just a pizza spot; it’s an experience. One that you’ll be thinking about long after the last...
Read moreThe pizza was really flavorful and pretty good pizza! For “busy” night…there were 3 pizza orders hanging up…they were soooo slow. The young lady running the counter up front was a bit scattered and seemed overwhelmed with the donut machine (it stopped working and they had to refund us our order. We had to ask twice if we were going to be getting them, on the second time they told us it broke! ) the guy in the back popped in and out of the kitchen and wasn’t rushing at all to make any pizzas. I know small town life is a slower paced life, but for them to say that they are swamped and there be just what I could see hanging up…having attended culinary school and worked in busy big city restaurants….they take “busy” to another level…it wasn’t busy but they were scattered. On that note I wouldn’t make any special trips out to try this pizza again, I don’t think I would stop by either to get that pizza when I’m back in that area. Pretty good food for me doesn’t make up for my time and their lack of...
Read moreDecided to try this place for dinner since we were on our first night of camping in Indianola and didn't want to cook. Ordered an XL pizza with the family deal (2 orders of cheese sticks) and a XL combo Told our order would be about 15 mins, so we figured we would run to the store to grab ice. We got back about 20 or so minutes later, got 1 order of cheese sticks, and the combo pizza, waited for another probably 25-30 mins for the other cheese sticks and pizza. I wish they would have kept the first two items in the back so they weren't getting cold waiting for the other half of our orders or offered to make us new items. Pizza was good, ranch was weird, it had dill in it we think, but wasn't terrible. Service was good and friendly but wish there would have been better communication. Maybe they just were having an off night but we will probably give them another shot if we are out...
