This restaurant has changed hands in the past few years, with a slight dip in the quality of service in some areas and better in others. I particularly love that the menu descriptions are pulled right off of wikipedia (you can check it; word for word in the case of Mongolian Beef!). In general the food is up to par with many restaurants of this type; favorites like general Tsao's, lo mein and chop suey are of good quality, not too salty or oddly flavored. If you're getting fried rice, lo mein, etc. that offer a "house" variant (i.e. with chicken, pork and shrimp), it's worth getting them for the few extra cents, unless you favor a specific iteration, as they're fairly generous with the fillings (e.g. the lo mein isn't all noodles with two pieces of chicken). If the menu says "you may ask for free small white rice", ASK, as they don't just include it. They can also be a little chintzy with the duck sauce, so if it's something you like, make sure you request extra. The only side dish I find not worth the expense is the bone in spare-ribs; they're pretty 'spare' with them (7) for $9.50, especially when one or two are burnt to a cinder... All this said, they're my "go-to" chinese place for when I've got the craving, as the quality is certainly there. Personal recommendations include the egg rolls, any type of rice, (yes, the lo mein! I'm biased on that as I judge any Chinese place's "will I go again" factor on that), chicken or shrimp with mixed vegetables or with broccoli (I could easily have either every day), general Tsao's chicketty chicken, crispy shrimp with walnuts (they're generous with the seafood) and/or all of their soups. In the end, what you prefer should rule the day, but whatever you choose, the majority of lil' chopsticks items (though not the Mongolian beef [sorry], and quite sadly, the chicken fingers) are going to be good. That, and any order, no matter how big or small, will be ten minutes (with the uber rare fifteen on very...
Read moreTo each their own; my roommates and I are divided on this one. They enjoy getting delivery from here, mainly because it's literally two blocks away. I, on the other hand, am not a big fan of the food.
Similar to other reviews here, there's no single glaring issue with the food (for the most part). It's just not... good. You know how everyone has that one friend who just isn't a good cook but no one is willing to say anything? This is like that. It's not inedible or anything, but I have no desire to order from here again.
In addition, the prices would be reasonable if this were any other restaurant, but the food just doesn't deliver the expected value. I will say that when I've gone in for take-out, the dining room looks nice. Typical asian buffet style furniture. But I've never actually seen a soul there other than the staff.
I wish I could offer more constructive criticism, but all I can say is that next time my roommates order from here, I won't be...
Read moreWe tried to order today, Dec 31st 2017, and had a major issue. I called at 530 pm thinking we can beat the rush. We were told sorry the driver is not in til 7. Call back then. Thinking this is really odd you tell me to call back when you should have taken the order and then had it delivered when he came in? Well surprise surprise when i call back at 705 and told by a guy this time no sorry were not doing delivery! When i asked why would the woman say call back at 7 guess what i hear in the backround? A woman SCREAMING NO NO DELIVERY TELL THEM NO DELIVERY! Seriously?! The guy continues to say oh we got really busy. So in less than 5 min you got so busy that you cant deliver? Keep in mind this is 7 pm. Not 9 or 10..... needless to say I just placed a $60 order elsewhere that happily delivers with better food!
AVOID...
