South Block — Restaurant in Falls Church

This lovely hipster health-forward place has some of the BEST Acaii bowls I've ever had! I got the warrior, my gf got the California, both amazing (although to be fully honest, her California was superior. Don't tell her I said that, I like to pretend I am always right - as if that ever actually happened...) Anyhow, terrific place for breakfast or a quick snack.

Music is appropriately loud, just enough to drown the sound of neighbors talking but not loud enough to affect your own discussion.

Good place for studying, there's a girl currently doing just that, headphones on, laptop open, going ham on her notepad with that poor dying pencil.

I'd suggest grabbing a light jacket (keep in mind I'm here in mid April). The AC is nice and mellow, but combined with the cold Acaii bowl, it tends to get a little chilly if you'll be here for longer than an hour.

Coffee is nice and balanced (not too strong, not weak at all), and tastes freshly roasted. It's not the most amazing coffee, but superior to Starbucks (then again, what isn't?). Ask for a...

Yo, peep this. I’m smashing some kofta down the block, right? Mid-bite, I catch wind there’s a South Block just a stroll away. Brain instantly goes: smoothie time. So I roll up, swing the door open, and who’s there? Boom - Antonio, my dude from the last couple visits. Man clocks me right away, doesn’t even flinch - already knows my go-to. Legendary.

We’re choppin’ it up while he’s whipping my drank, just straight vibin’. At this point, we’re not just customer and employee... nah, we’re bros. We’re out here swapping cat-in-Halloween-costume pics like it’s sacred ritual. Then, my guy hits me with the ultimate “have a great day,” capped with a fist bump so clean, so perfectly synced, it reverberates through my chest like the universe just clicked into alignment.

Epic vibes, boys. 10/10, I’m def coming back. If you haven’t rolled through yet, do yourself a favor - hit up South Block and get that...

Update: I contacted their customer service. It was a bit delayed, but they were able to assist with the problem. I still enjoy their acai bowls, but we make sure to double check our orders from now on.

November 2022: Extremely disappointed and frustrated. My partner ordered me a bowl and what I received was not only the wrong size, but they completely messed up the order.

What was ordered was a Pure Love bowl with no pineapple. Extra strawberries + Chia, along with everything else standard.

What I got was this tiny bowl topped with tons of coconut & no granola.

I contacted their customer service but I haven't received a response after 40 minutes.

I was genuinely looking forward to breaking my fast with this acai bowl. And I'm feeling extra emotional due to my period. But it ruined my day.
