BAD experience! Saturday night was our first time dining at Luna, and quite possibly our last. My wife and I have been talking about going to Luna for some time now, so we were excited to celebrate Valentine's Day and the fact that my wife won an award at her workplace. I made reservations 1 week prior and we had looked at the menu ahead of time. We both had our hearts set on a certain dish, come to find out that the menu changed on Friday! I even looked at the menu again Friday morning at 8:30 (I have it on my phone) and the menu was still what we were expecting, so it apparently changed sometime later Friday. We do realize that the menu constantly changes but were always told by others that it remains the same for the entire month. We expressed our disappointment to our server in a kind way and the server did apologize. However we weren't going to let this ruin our evening. After that though, things changed and not for the better. Instead of the Wagyu beef, my wife choose the beef tenderloin and I choose the duck instead of the Golden Corvina & crab. We also ordered the popovers and the cheese plate. The cheese plate was good, except that we noticed that the table next to us had received crackers on their plate, which were missing on ours, although we didn't say anything. When the entrees came out, my wife's medium rare steak was very rare, to the point that one piece in particular was tough and chewy. She also received what appeared to be mashed potatoes instead of Risotto, and make no mistake, my wife knows the difference. My duck was charred and overdone. I've had duck before that was tender and juicy, this was very dry. Despite all of this we did not complain when asked by our server how everything was. She did not stop to check on us during our meal after that and we had to flag her down for a refill of water. She did come back when we had finished and asked if we wanted dessert. We said that we would possibly like dessert, so she brought a menu back for us. It was then that my wife realized that there was NO king crab on her plate!! She also again mentioned to me that it was not risotto. When our server came back we declined dessert and my wife mentioned that she did not receive any king crab. The server stated that she would check into it. When she returned, she simply handed us the bill and started to turn to walk away! That was the last straw for me - she choose to simply ignore our question about the king crab. As she was turning away, I asked her politely what she had found out about the crab. She claimed that it was present in the dish and that it was just sliced very thinly and included in the "risotto"! My wife stated that she didn't detect any crab and also that it was not risotto that she had received. (Crab is one of her favorite foods, so she would know if it was present). Our server simply kept quiet and walked away, no apology or attempt to try to make it right. We feel that other than the initial apology about the surprise menu change, she was indifferent towards us and lacked the proper customer service. She made no attempt to make things right or properly address our concerns. To top it off, we felt that our intelligence was insulted when she expected us to believe that it was truly risotto and that there was indeed crab included in the dish. Did she think we're stupid? It is one thing to have a dish come out incorrectly, mistakes happen and we both understand that, but to first initially try to ignore our concerns completely, by handing us the bill and trying to quickly walk away and then to claim there was crab present when there wasn't is completely unacceptable. Considering the prices that Luna charges, I would expect much better service and some attempt to make it right, whatever that might be. I would also expect for those prices that the food would be cooked properly, but that was not the case either. The popovers were properly made however. Unfortunately, our special night was diminished because of our very first time visiting Luna and are wondering if it is even worth...

Read moreFrom the experience I had, I have no idea how this place has such a high rating. Chose it to go to after my sister’s graduation and was so disappointed and the rest of my family was too. When I walked in, the lobby looked dirty and that should have been my first sign to walk out. My sister and brother said it reminded them of the Brazilian grill off of the movie Bridesmaids.😬Then our coffee came and it was cold. Another sign.
The man who took our reservation and brought us our food was friendly and so was our main waitress. The appetizers we ordered were also quite good. However, there was a woman who worked there who was extremely rude. We had a reservation and got seated at a table by an exit door. We sat some people on the end of the table which ended up very slightly obstructing the doorway. Instead of suggesting we turn the table or maybe move to another area (it wasn’t that busy), the woman came up and told us loudly that we couldn’t have people seated on the end of the table and they had to move. And then repeated it three times in a condescending tone. She then was flagged down by a table across from us and a customer told her his food was raw and instead of her saying they would cook it more she argued with the man. The rest of his table jumped in at that point and said his food was raw and it was unacceptable. It was so awkward and an extremely uncomfortable dining environment. While all of this was happening, our food was taking forever. We debated just walking out and leaving money on the table but we were all so hungry at that point that we just wanted to get our food and leave. Most of us were happy with the entrees but the grilled cheese they brought for the kid’s meal was a very strong cheese in a bread that very few kids I know would eat. The rest of the entrees were okay but nothing so special that I would ever go back to put up with the rest of it. Luckily none of us got food poisoning and we can just all agree we will...
