Don't know how many times I passed this place up but finally I had a chance to stop and get a combo plate, let me tell you, I eat a good amount of que, these guys are up there with bigs, I could not say enough. The ribs, brisket just melted in mouth, no need to bite just put your lips on them and it' like ice cream meat, so tender, well balanced with smoke, no sauce needed. Here I am thinking Hutchins, closer to me was the local best que, shut the door, sorry but they are not even close. The best thing was I got my plate fast, which means they were not selective, what they had was what you get and it's all good. Great job guys, outstanding! 380 stretch has some of the best local foods, not the typical franchise, try the food trucks and privately owned eateries, you will not be disappointed. Work and play on 380 for over 20 years, I have ate at just about every spot that has food. Redwine, Teiyaki & Bowl, The Catch( Denton), Fresh Thai( Aubreu) Mom's Burgers&Wings(Providence) just stop and eat, you will not be...
Read moreRedwine's knows what they are doing. The brisket was good and tender. The ribs and sausages were excellent. The pulled pork was exceptionally good. As an exciting addition they have on Friday and Saturday only smoked bacon wrapped stuffed (cheese and chopped brisket) jalapeno peppers that were brilliant.
I did not try any of their desserts, because I ate too much this time, but I look forward to trying some of their desserts next time.
Being in North Texas we have access to some exceptionally good barbecue. I ate at one of those award-winning places in Deep Ellum last weekend but I would rather come to Redwine's every time. The food is better and the price can not be beat.
Well done Redwine's. Keep up the great smoking. Looking forward to my next visit.
Update: Have been back several times since my review and the food is consistently good. The service is very friendly and helpful. I have had a chance to try the desserts and...
Read moreBest bbq around. Is it Hutchins good? No. But it's really good. I got 2 chopped brisket sandwiches, 1/2lb of sliced brisket, 1/2 rack of ribs and 2 sides for $60. Not bad. It easily fed 3 people. The Mac & cheese may be the best I've ever had. The potato salad had great flavor. I just wasn't crazy about the texture. It was a mashed potato consistency & I prefer a more chunky potato salad. The brisket was amazing. Tender, moist & smokey. Nice smoke ring and great flavor. The ribs were fall off the bone and smokey. Very few ribs don't need bbq sauce & these were in that category. They were in my top 3 best ribs I've had. If I had to give a negative comment, it would be about the BBQ sauce. I realize that's very subjective but I wasn't crazy about it. The sauce had a bit too much of a vinegar taste that wasn't my favorite but I ate it...
