Cappza's Pizza — Restaurant in Farmingdale

After a long day, I thought i’d try the new pizza place about 5 minutes away. I placed my order at 8:15 for delivery and waited.. and waited.. and WAITED. After about an hour and half and 2 phone calls to the store on where my order was the driver finally showed up. Just as I went outside to meet the driver, the driver zooms out of the driveway and took off! The driver left me in the cold with nothing but a broken heart and no pizza. I called the store again, and the gentleman I spoke to said she will be right back, so I stood outside for another 15 minutes. I called the store again, and spoke to the manager and asked for a refund. She called the driver, and the driver was going to come back around. 5 minutes later, the pizza was finally here!

Over 2 hours for delivery and I wanted to dive into the pepperoni pizza! As I opened the box, I struggled. The whole friggin pizza was stuck to the top of box and there was nothing to be eaten! Not impressed, and manager offered me a giftcard for my “troubles”. Went in today and they gave me a full refund as I didnt want the gift card.

I've loved this place since it opened, unfortunately my last experience there will probably be my last. I was very excited when they opened. I like supporting local businesses, having celiac disease, I can't have gluten, and they have a gluten free pizza. The first time I went I quizzed them on their safety protocal and felt they could make it as safely as could be expected. The crust is outsourced in a safe facility, so no worries of flour, they used seperate ingredients and separate cutter in a separate area. I ordered cautiously optimistic and found it was delicious and I had no ill effects. However, this last time, I ordered from the website, assuming they would be equally careful, I've ordered online before, but I got horribly sick. I clearly experienced cross contact. I have been ill ever since. I can stay sick for a week or more. Unfortunately, I no longer feel safe eating here, and for that reason, its my last visit. Pizza tastes great, but no point in having gluten free on the menu if it isn't...

The pizza was OK. I'm rating the service 2 stars because of the difference in the time I was told. I was told when I ordered over the phone 15- 20 mins. I arrived 30 mins after I placed my order. I was told at the counter that my pizza was finishing up and would be out in 3 minutes. 25 minutes later, it was ready (55 minutes total). While I waited in the store with multiple others that were frustrated as they were experiencing the same situation, I noticed the staff were still telling phone in ordered and in store orders 15 -20 mins for their pizza's. Obviously, the staff knew that wasn't the case as myself and others crowded the lobby waiting for our orders. I don't mind that it's going to wait a while to fulfill my order when you're busy, I completely understand. Just please don't lie to me on the phone about the time. I would have rather stayed at home and enjoyed my company's presence, then stood in your lobby...
