We love visiting mom & pop restaurants for their very unique homely ambience & non-commercialized feel. A visit to Connie's definitely dint let us down. This is a Mandica family owned operation since 1944 & was perfect for a lazy beautiful winter noon for brunching, Our frds reached & sat down before we arrived & the staffs were so friendly that they guided us voluntarily to the right table without having to ask. We loved the servers, they were very friendly & food came very quick on the table, the decor is well lit, clean & vibrant with a rustic flavor ...you can spot a big old school charm rustic wall clock which definitely catches the attention, parking is ample
We ordered One Ham Domlette served with a choice of Home Fries or Hash Browns & Toast with the bread selection (& I topped it with extra cheese @ $1 extra :P) *This indeed is a must have, its delicious & portion is huge
One Italian Sausage Domlette The omlette is cooked with pepper, sliced sausags, onions & potatoes served with a choice of Home Fries or Hash Browns & Toast with the bread selection We almost had to throw it , the onions were overcooked so the crisp was totally gone , potatoes were soggy making the sausage loose its flavor totally a massive showdown **I certainly would not recommend it, it was waste of money
Regular Bottomless Cup Coffee - it was good, you can make your own by customizing with sugar & milk
A Cheese burger ( we requested to substitute the beef patty with a chic patty instead & they happily agreed& served as was requested) It wasn't one of the tastiest ,but was very healthy & fresh though, nothing exceptional but definitely good.
A Ham & Swiss Club Sandwich - The cheese melt in the mouth & wasnt at all overpowering or killing teh taste of Ham. It was definitely a good try
Sweet Potato Waffle fries - the sweetness was so well balanced that you cant keep your hands off these crispy beauties, kids will love these
Overall it was a great experience, however the Italian domlette let us down, which definitely would not allow me to give it a 5 I would give...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday was my first and most likely last time at Connie's. I went for what I consider a basic breakfast: eggs, bacon, sausage and toast. Eggs were not at all fluffy, in fact flat, unseasoned, men eggs. I got 3 paper this slices of bacon for $2.70. I also got for an additional $2.70 3 tiny sausage, not thick links like you would expect when they say links. These were just 3 pinky sized sausage that were burned on one side. The toast wast cold and chewy. $18 plus tip for a very mediocre breakfast. The best part about the place was the friendly wait staff. I have no doubt that if I informed them of what I thought were their short comings they would have done something to apeas me but I was not in the mood. Besides, you shouldn't have to complain to get what you should have gotten in the first place.
In response to managements comment. Yes, everyone can have a bad day but that does not excuse $2.70 for 3 paper thin (I didnt even mention not cooked well, which is a mystery to me) pieces of bacon and the same for those 3 NOT link tiny sausage. I dont mind the price, but I like to get what I am paying for. I appreciate the offer of a free breakfast but that is not the purpose of any of my reviews. If/when I come back, you will not know. You should serve every meal like its someone who will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I went to Connieās today. We are Farmingdale residents. We arrived just before 9:00. We were seated quickly and placed our order. A family of 5 was seated next to us, they had 3 young children. As we waited for our food the youngest child began to throw a plastic egg toy around as well as crayons. These items were bouncing off table tops of other patrons. The parents did nothing. This continued as we were served our food. This child kept throwing these plastic egg at the tables around them while everyone was trying to enjoy their breakfastā¦and the parents DID NOTHING! We then heard the father say to his wife that he was going to say hello to Dom. He walked back to the kitchen. Itās obvious that this father knew someone there and to bring a child there that was so out of hand and loud is completely disrespectful to Dom, Connies and especially the people that were there trying to have breakfast. You could see everyone around (10-12 people)were extremely uncomfortable. My wife and I rushed through our breakfast and didnāt even wait for the check. We went up to the cashier, paid our bill and left as soon as possible. Sorry Connieās, we wonāt be backā¦ever. For a $35.00 breakfast without tip we will take our...
