Woody's Roadside Tavern — Restaurant in Farmingdale

We are locals who have dined at Woody's with our friends and family many times. A dear loved one recently passed, and we decided to have the repast at Woody's on Sunday 5/27. We reserved the room in the back and were expecting about 50 people.

problem 1: The food ran out before all the guests had a chance to eat, and we waited 45 minutes for the buffet to be replenished. First the salad, then soon after the veggies, main course, and pasta were gone as soon as only about half the guests had eaten. When the food was finally replenished, there were no clean plates to be had! So then our guests had to wait for plates for another 10 minutes while staring at the food.

problem 2: Food was out on the buffet, but we had to ask staff multiple times to place serving utensils at the food stations so we could begin eating.

problem 3: Not enough wait staff or servers, and the servers who were there did not service our guests as far as simple drink orders (ie water and soda). Everyone was hot and thirsty. The wait staff /servers appeared to be very young, and very inexperienced.

problem 4: The air conditioning was not sufficient for the size of the room. It was extremely hot, and we could not even get pitchers of water for the tables.

ALL THE WHILE, WE WERE REPORTING ALL OF THESE ISSUES TO THE SERVERS AND THE BARTENDERS... no one helped. We began to look for the manager, the owner, anyone who could help us!! LITERALLY BLANK STARES. NO ONE CARED! We had heard as we were paying the bill, that the owner was in the building, but even after multiple requests, we never got the opportunity to speak to him/her.

We were very embarrassed at the way we and our guests were treated, such poor service and lack of attention. It was such a difficult day for us, and the fact that we had to say goodbye to a loved one and deal with such utter ineptitude was ridiculous. It is such a shame that we can not recommend Woody's Roadside Tavern for hosting ANY private event. Sadly, we will not be returning here...

UPDATE!! NICE TRY - KEEP TAKING MY REVIEW DOWN AND I WILL KEEP PUTTING IT BACK UP!! If I could give zero (0) I would! HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT, SERVICE AND FOOD!!! Had a bridal shower there Sunday, 2/19/23 - IN-EDIBLE FOOD! I can't even describe the food and service - the most embarrassing event ever! Server had an attitude; owner doesn't care and the food they put out I wouldn't give to a DOG! Disgusting! Do yourself a favor and stay away!!!! I wish I read the reviews before I booked. Thanks Jen for your sarcasm and uncaring attitude and trying to make me feel bad that your daughter was in the hospital - like its my problem when you have bigger issues; you can't fool me on what you were trying to cover up - you knew full well that was GARBAGE coming out of the kitchen and you claim you saw the food that day - well then you need to seriously raise your standards Jarred marinated vegetables not grilled; soggy old salad; leftover bread to make bread pudding instead of french toast; dry sandwiches with not one condiment put out (except two hellmans mayo packets WHEN ASKED FOR); people waiting for drinks and service. Server never did what she was supposed to do and she came in the room - if I counted correctly - twice Just stay away - trust me on this one!!! Let me also add that we USED TO (never again) frequent woody's and when I said that to the OWNER, she could care less. If I were a business owner and I had someone call me and tell me the amount of things that were wrong; I would surely make it right in some way. Jen, you are a DISGUSTING PERSON! Just as disgusting as your food! I gave you a chance to make it right and you refused. Here ya go! The other owners should really step in on this one! ...

The Tavern is decked out in stunning holiday decor, from twinkling lights to festive touches that bring out the “Christmas Magic.” They even offer outdoor igloos, so you can enjoy dining under the moon and stars while staying cozy during the colder months.

Another highlight? The seasonal specials. There’s something so delightful about a menu tailored to the holidays, and Woody’s goes all out. Their holiday cocktail menu is a perfect blend of indulgence and seasonal cheer—luxurious drinks that taste like winter in a glass. If you prefer non-alcoholic options, most cocktails can easily be made into festive mocktails without sacrificing the experience.
