Mei Wei — Restaurant in Farmington

This is hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Twin Cities. They opened many years ago in a shopping mall at the front of our neighborhood. We frequently went there to grab dinner and were always satisfied completely with the service and most of all THE CONSISTANCY OF THE FOOD. Having moved 15 miles from them 10 years ago, we still drove down several times per year to enjoy their food. When my daughter and I went for lunch yesterday, she - at 21, said to me: "You know why Mei Wei is such a great restaurant dad? Because there food is always consistent. It always tastes exactly like you expect it to."

What a chip off the old block...I've been telling her for years that this is the most important quality a restaurant can have.

Owners are friendly and courteous. Service is always good. If you have time to venture out and drive to get here, or if you live in the south metro - this will not be a wasted trip!

The food here at Mei Wei is amazing. My favorite is the sesame chicken with white rice. The chicken is very delicious, hot and crispy and I am satisfied every time. The sauce on the chicken is very delicious also. I also love the fried rice. I will come back here again in the future, I definitely recommend the sesame chicken, come here if you like sesame chicken. I have tried many Chinese restaurants and this is the best sesame chicken and Chinese food I have ever had. I have been coming here for years. First the website said we could make reservations, we tried and were turned down. We went to their location and found all tables were open. We ordered Sesame Chicken with sauce on the side & Sweet& Sour Pork. The pork had no flavor at all. I cut the chicken piece in half & found what looked like ground pieces of chicken smushed together and coated in a yellowish thin batter. Took a bite, it didn’t taste like chicken? I ate 2 pieces.
