An impromptu trip allowed me and my brother some time to experience some of the history of Fayette. It's a beautiful small town that hasn't been overrun by big box stores and traffic congestion. Plus it allowed us to sample the cuisine at Fannie's -- which I'm glad I selected. Tucked away in an older building, the interior is small, quaint and decorated with works by local artists. You order at the counter, make your drink selection and then take your number to an available table. Service was quick and very cordial. I chose the regular Reuben with chips and a soft drink. The corned beef on marbled rye with sauerkraut and 1000 island was perfect. I guess I wasn't expecting the sandwich to be one of the best I've ever had, but it was. Fresh, hot and so moist -- the flavor was perfect. My brother ordered chicken salad on a croissant with fries (which were air fried). He said both were excellent. Since we live almost two hours away from Fayette, it's probably not some place that I will be frequenting, but I highly recommend Fannie's if you're passing through or if you're a local. When I come to Fayette, it will be my go to place.

This was our first time to Fannie's II, and we will definitely be back. We were passing through and decided to give this quaint eatery a try. We are really glad that we did. I decided to give the Becker Double Decker Chesseburger (the special for the day) a try, and it was definitely a good choice. Two 4 oz patties with Swiss cheese, avocado, sliced tomatoe, with sriracha mayo, with a fried over medium egg. I also grabbed a side order of baked fries. My wife got the chicken salad sandwich on a sourdough, and we both enjoyed the blueberry cake, which butter creme icing. It's definitely worth the drive to stop by and grab some lunch. Inside of the restaurant was very cozy with some church pews used as some of the table seating. There's even a small outdoor area out front for some sidewalk dining. 4 thumbs up from the wife and I. 👍👍👍👍

We had the BEST time for our 20 year class reunion. Cathy was amazing! The venue is the CUTEST! The Sour Cream and Onion dip was so yummy, and the Dark Chocolate sea salt cookies were some of the best cookies I have ever ate. She had our “snacks” ready for us when we arrived. Everything was perfect! We are planning to now have all of our events there. From patio heaters, outside speakers, clean restroom, decorations, plenty of room to sit, everything was wonderful! Thank you again to Cathy for allowing us to use this amazing venue!

Visited Fannie's on my way home after spending a day in town for work. All I had was a dark chocolate chip and sea salt cookie, but it was the perfect pick-me-up for the drive home!

Fannie's is a really pretty little cafe. They were doing good business with a bunch of nice-sounding ladies when I rolled up at around 3:30. An older woman with some of the most stunning blue eyes I've ever seen very kindly greeted me and politely asked for me to hold on while she finished getting their food out. No problem there. I browsed the lunch menu and felt sad that I wouldn't be have an opportunity to return and try their soups and sandwiches (I'll be moving away very soon). They do look delicious!

The cookie was brought out to me with the note that it was fresh out of the oven. Super exciting! I spoke with the lovely cashier for a moment or two longer before heading out on the road.

I wouldn't have bothered to mention the name of the cookie so specifically (dark chocolate chip and sea salt), but this cookie was remarkable in that it really DID encompass all those flavors. The dark chocolate was subtly bitter against the brown sugary goodness, and I did get a few bites that were bursting with a delightful sharp saltiness. A really, really good cookie, marred only slightly by the fact that it was just the tiniest bit underbaked.

While I probably won't get an easy chance to revisit Fannie's, I have to recommend that you do, if you get the...
