Wonderful little hidden-gem kind of place. Solid pizza menu and some cheeky menu names. Rest of the food is standard bar fare with a few surprises like spanokopita. They have their own home brewed beers so that's a plus. Prices are quite reasonable. Staff is friendly and the bartender I had was full of energy and character in the best way possible. It was lively but not super busy which is great and the music was a decent volume so your ears aren't blown out like some places do. If there is one knock, it is the fact there's two entrances for the Taphouse & Restaurant sides that aren't specifically labelled as such, so you want to make sure if you're there for the food you go to the side of the building closer to the gas station. It's on a good spot near the I-295 interchange so easily accessible and proximity to Methodist University. If you want to sample the beers, take the...
Read moreWeâve been to this neighborhood brewery several times. Has always been a nice convenient place to stop in for a drink and bite to eat. Atmosphere is good, food is decent (they will accommodate making a vegan, no cheese pizza for me). I much prefer a glass of dry red wine as Iâve never been a beer drinker. Today we stopped in with family, and the female bartender said no red wine available, only white wine. Inquired if any dry whites were available. She was very rude and abrupt, not at all helpful. I doubt weâll be back again, not just because of no wine, but mostly because bartenders should be friendly and helpful, unlike this one.
Edit in response to the ownerâs post I think your response to my review reflects more on your character as a bar owner than mine as a disappointed returning customer who was met by an unwelcoming bartender with an...
Read moreHad really high hopes after reading the other reviews. Ended up having a decent time overall. Went on a random Wednesday evening. Place was pretty busy. Only 1 bartender and 2 people in the kitchen so despite all being super friendly, everything took an excessive amount of time. 10-15 minutes standing in line to place a food or drink order. Each food item took 45 minutes or more to come out...some an hour. Across our group of 8, half were dissatisfied with their food for one reason or another. On a positive note, their beers are solid. They focus their in-house offerings around European styles, and that's where they do well. If you're an IPA person, you probably won't be thrilled (but they do have a variety of IPA cans available). If you can appreciate a variety of styles, you'll find something you like. I particularly liked the porter and the cream...
