After an afternoon at the arcade and putt-putt, Mad Hatters was the perfect treat for a hot day. A shop hidden off of Hope Mills Road, Mad Hatters is themed after Alice in Wonderland, bringing you flavors based off the characters and a topsy-turvy atmosphere. In addition to the “traditional” ice cream flavors, they also offered unique flavors that I would have never thought to mix in my ice cream, including queso (they were out of it at the time). They allow you to sample any of the flavors. I personally tried the March Hare, which was a sweet toffee, coffee, and chocolate flavor. The initial sweetness was okay, but I got two scoops and it eventually got too sugary for my taste. However, they do allow you to pick multiple flavors for your scoops, so you can balance them out. The staff was very nice and friendly, and talked to us for a few minutes since it was slow and we were the only visitors at the time. The only downside is that they only seem to be open at limited times on the weekend. Otherwise, I would definitely check this place out for your next ice cream trip!

Mad Hatters Ice Cream is truly a hidden gem that deserves way more recognition. This local, family-owned shop makes all of their ice cream right on the premises, and their flavors are out of this world. I recently had a Mangonada—mango sorbet topped with chamoy and Tajín—and it was incredible! It brought back so many memories with every bite. I've also tried their Tamarind sorbet and Limeade sorbet, both of which were equally amazing. My wife, who is a huge fan of birthday cake ice cream, fell in love with their "Unbirthday Cake" flavor—she couldn't stop raving about it. More people need to discover this place, and it definitely deserves to blow up and open more locations. If you're anywhere near Hope Mills, do yourself a favor and stop by Mad Hatters. You won’t be disappointed—they deserve all the love and so do you!

I can’t imagine why anyone would rate this place less than 5 stars. My husband and I found this little ice cream shop about 5 or 6 months ago, and what keeps us coming back is 1. The amazing ice cream flavors and 2. The outstanding customer service. We try to visit weekly, and every time we come in, there’s a new flavor to try. I love that they’ve introduced us to so many unique ice cream flavors. I’d never had Queso flavored ice cream until coming here, and I’ll honestly say that that is my new all time favorite ice cream flavor. The prices are great, the shop is cutely decorated with an Alice in Wonderland theme, and it’s homemade ice cream! You can’t ask for anything better. Definitely our favorite small business in Fayetteville!!

We love this place! Our family came here with my granddaughter last year when she was one year old, and we all love it. We returned this year on our vacation to see her, and we came here again and once more very much enjoyed our ice cream. I love the Alice in Wonderland themed ice cream flavors, and the Sorbet is amazing, I especially like the Rompope. Both time we have been serviced by an amazing young man, Viktor. He has been exceptionally kind and has engaged us in conversation, and overall just made the experience even better then it already was. He has been helpful in showing us all the flavors, letting us try many different ones and just being very nice and patient with our family. Would definitely recommend this place, great positive atmosphere to it, fun flavors and theme, and great people...
