This was by far the worst dining experience I have ever had. We arrived this past Saturday afternoon just before 3 pm and were initially the only customers. We were waiting for friends to arrive, and by that time 2 other people had arrived and ordered before our group of 5. We (my husband and I) ordered at the same time as our friends (party of 3). We received our mimosas fairly quickly, about 5 minutes since they had to make a fresh pitcher. The other group of 2 received their food, and shortly after our friends received their food as well about 10-15 minutes after ordering. We anticipated our food would arriving shortly after since we had ordered at the same time.
40 minutes passed from the time we originally placed our order, to when we finally asked where our food was. There were about 4-5 employees sitting at the table next to us, being incredibly rowdy and loud (yelling and slamming fists on the table periodically), and all while drinking. Perhaps if the staff hadn't been drunk or high they may have noticed that half our table were missing food.
We were given some excuse about the kitchen being slow. I can deal with a wait time when a restaurant is clearly busy, but when there are only 3 orders (2 of them part of the same group) and the rest of the establishment is empty, there's no excuse for that. By that time, the other group of 2 had left, and our friends had finished their meals long ago. 2 of them ended up leaving, and one stayed just to make sure we did eventually get our food and because she felt bad.
47 minutes after we originally ordered, our food finally arrived, although they set the wrong order in front of me then seemed shocked when I said, "that's not what I ordered." They quickly swapped it out for the right item, and said they grabbed the wrong plate. We were told our ticket had fallen off the line in the kitchen, so our order was never made. Again, if the employees literally sitting at the table next to us hadn't been drinking and goofing off, you'd think after 5-10 minutes of only half the table receiving food would have raised their attention. It's apparently too difficult for 4-5 employees to keep up with 7 total patrons though.
As for the food itself, you could tell it was clearly rushed by that point. I ordered the BAE egg sandwich. I think they forgot the basil-mayo entirely, my bacon was cooked just enough to avoid bacteria but was otherwise chewy and clearly undercooked, the eggs were actually overcooked and dry, and I had a single slice of tomato that barely covered even half the sandwich. My husband ordered the Hangover burger. I'm not sure how his food was other than he described it as being "meh." We were so hungry when we walked in you would think anything would taste good at that point, but unfortunately it was about as quality as the "service" we received.
We did get an apology from one of the employees that had previously been drinking and slamming his fist on the table at every semblance of a joke his buddies could muster. He said there was no manager on duty, and since we hadn't opened a tab he couldn't offer us any refunds. He offered us free food or free alcohol as compensation, however, we couldn't wait to leave after our experience up to that point and had no desire for further mediocre food. We should have gotten a full refund...
Read moreHORRIBLE BRUNCH!!!! First off, I'm not the "Can I speak to your manager?" type of customer, nor do I post reviews about bad/good experiences at a business, but this was horrible. Right when we walked in the staff seemed unwelcoming and was a bit awkward, there were about 5-6 open tables and no one offered to seat us, nor were there any signs to seat yourself. Cocktails here are about $8-$15, they use well liquor and serve it to you in a TINY crappy plastic "glass" that looks like something from the sale rack at Party City. "Signature" cocktails for $8-$15 should AT LEAST use premium liquor and offer a decent portion. I got the aviation, (which the bartender recommended). The gin they used is either Takka or McCormicks (I couldn't tell), which retails for $6 a bottle at the liquor store down the street. The drink was honestly one of the worst things I've ever had. I asked the bartender if I could have a different drink, or better off be refunded as I had only taken a sip and didn't think the next drink would be any better than the first. She offered NOTHING to fix the issue. I asked one of the other staff members what a good brunch item was and they highly recommended the 'Beachcomber' breakfast burrito and hyped it up so much you would've thought Gordon Ramsey cooked it. If that was the best brunch item, I have even greater concerns about this place. The prices here simply do not match the quality. This place is very over rated, over priced, and over hyped. The staff is unprofessional and needs to be trained properly, especially if they're going to keep these astronomically high prices. I would not recommend this place to my...
Read moreHad been wanting to try breakfast/brunch at Nomad's on School for a few months. Our last visit in town we went. Arrived at 10:30am, they start serving at 10:00am. They were already out of so much on their menu, waited in line to place our order inside at the counter, got our mimosa glasses inside and had to go outside & wait inline to get our beverages. They gave us a number which we placed on the center of our table BY THE KITCHEN, about 30 minutes into our wait, a girl that worked there came over moved our number 1/8 a turn then chewed us out because the kitchen needed to be able to see the number. We are 4 adult, not elementary kids, how hard is it to place a number on the table. After 1 hour and 45 minuets of waiting, our food arrived. The food was okay, nothing special at all. If you want silverware for your meal, you might bring you own. We had to find napkin wrapped silverware at other tables b/c the staff would not bring that to us. Once we finished eating, I went up to a worker asked if I could tab out, the girl pointed to the line to order food that was lined to the door & said I needed to get in that line to pay my tab. That took another 35 minuets in that line to tab out. I understand that you order at the counter And they don't offer table service, yet to pay your bill should not be a big long ordeal! Nomad's must have all the business they want due to already running out of menu items at 10:30am, not offering silverware while making the customer search out their own, multiple lines to wait for service & the rudeness of the staff for no...
