I found Free Geek at the square many years ago, and the management style has changed a bit over the years. I believe it was due to the current state of things at Free Geek or challenges that they were facing that I've found a different attitude on different occasions.

As an IT professional and hobbyist, I continuously acquire old electronics whether I want them or not. So many times I've been offered something that I could do something spectacular with, but one's life is only so long. I try to take all of this to Free Geek.

Extremely overpriced dirty, old donated electronics. It’s a weird, cluttered, dirty place. The owner knows nothing about anything within her store. Also, not a single one of her unpaid workers know anything about anything in their dirty, cluttered, weird, overpriced store filled with electronics that really should just be trashed. And the owner treated me like I was a thief when I brought in a used laptop a friend had given me. But ya know if you love dirty, broken, outdated, extremely overpriced DONATED electronics that you’ll likely have to dig around in their unorganized room devoted to power cables for, then this is the place for you! And seriously forget about getting ANY assistance at all. The owner prides herself on accepting donated, otherwise meant for a dumpster, trashed electronics and then charging ridiculously high prices for these items that cannot be returned! This place of “business” should definitely be investigated...

Will not do business with in the future. Outright liars who cant keep their word or their story straight. Dont donate here, it isnt worth it. Time to reply to the review but not to make the promised call, fairly typical here. I'm trying to be cool honestly I have rarely had the issues I have here anywhere! Your employee told me I wasnt worth the time, that's not a miscommunication that's an insult. Owning your own actions is a beautiful thing.
