My favorite place for breakfast!
BUT.. They've been super swamped lately but I think they need to bring back a hostess/server checking people in. On our visit Sunday, it said seat yourself and we were patiently waiting our turn for a table to be cleaned before we seated ourselves. Since they were so busy, 2 tables were open they just weren't clean yet so again we were waiting for about 5 or 10 minutes. In walks an older couple (mind you we have a 1 year old losing his mind ready to eat but we are still patiently waiting our turn to sit until a table is clean), they see we are waiting and decide to go ahead and skip ahead of us and sit at a dirty table in order to get service first. Seeing as we've been standing now for 10 minutes, and this in unfair, and we don't want to get skipped again if others keep doing this, we do the same at the other dirty table. When the waitress comes over, she sort of made a snarky comment to us about us not letting her clean the table first and our sons plate/puffs/toys were in the way now which again i understand they are busy but we were waiting then we basically got punished for waiting since the rude older couple got served first :/ . I politely responded that we were waiting patiently despite our son freaking out, we got skipped because of line cutters. She wiped off the table then walked away. Once our food was ready, our waitress had to answer the phone and was on the phone for a very long time (looked like she had to take a really long order), so by the time we got our pancakes and French toast to the table they were both cold from sitting on the pass. I do feel bad for waitstaff because I know they are doing everything they can, which is why im still giving 4 stars but again maybe try to bring back a list of people at the front so people aren't getting skipped and if a waitress gets stuck on the phone for 15 minutes, maybe another waitress could run the food if they notice its been sitting for...
Read moreIf you're ever in Fayetteville, don't miss this amazing little hidden gem. Our scout Troop was passing through on our way back from Summer Camp and we looking for a family-owned breakfast spot. You can imagine the concern a restaurant would have when 13 teenage boys show up in the middle of the early morning rush.
I can't say enough about the staff's patience and friendliness. The waitress was phenomenal, and the kitchen had our order out quicker than I could have imagined.
It's a small little dinner with a cozy feel. The wall was adorned with nothing but hunting trophies and pictures of The Duke himself. It had a classic Americana feel that was reminiscent of the 60's. The tables and floor were clean, and with an easy view of the kitchen, diners can rest assured that everything is clean and in order.
The food was AMAZING. Quality home-cooked comfort food. The biscuits were crisp yet fluffy. The sausage gravy was just thick enough and full of flavor. The hash browns were all cooked with an amazing crunch on the outside and tender on the inside. The best part was the omelet. Enough egg to be an omelet, but loaded with fillings. The others in our group enjoyed their food as well and everyone was full.
With a coffee cup that never ran dry, a waitress whose smile never faded, and the warm feeling of stepping back in time, I can't...
Read moreThis was the worst omelet & biscuit with gravy I've ever tried to eat. The omelet was a veggie omelet, but they used canned vegetables! It was very obvious that they were not fresh vegetables. The biscuit was extremely hard and the gravy was pasty. When the waitress came over to ask how the meal was going, she noticed just a couple of bites had been eaten. I usually do not say anything if the food isn't the best, because it's not the wait person's fault, but because this meal was totally inedible, I did tell her. She was very nice and apologized offering to bring me something else off the menu. I declined because the dish was so bad I didn't have any hopes they could do any better. She did remove the meal from our check. Another reason I did not order anything is, my husband's pancakes were pretty bad and the bacon was burnt beyond recognition. My husband did eat a little bit of his pancakes because he was really hungry, but they were so dry he had a hard time getting them down. He kept pouring more syrup, but they absorbed the syrup like a sponge. By this time we just got up paid for his meal and left. I was really surprised by this meal, because we have eaten here before and it was good, but it had been a few years ago. The only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the service, she was very...
