By a lake in the heart of the South (near Natural State Beer Co.), Is a spot that’s renowned by word of mouth. Tony’s South Side Smoke Shack stands proud, Drawing in quite the crowd, With the best tri tip and ribs to melt in your mouth.

I met Tony, a man tough and kind, With strong hands and a generous mind. We ordered Doppelbocks there, And talked life by the bar, Our beliefs and our roots intertwined.

A veteran, well-traveled and wise, He spoke of his daughter with pride in his eyes. An architect in fair Italy, Where he’d recently been, you see, Sharing tales beneath Arkansas skies.

His love for the Razorback state, Outshone mine, but it sealed our fate. We could chat through the night, By the fire’s warm light, While his smoker works wonders with plate.

Though my vampire can’t eat garlic, alas, Tony’s skills let the obstacle pass. With notice, he’d made, A garlic-free trade, A tri-tip as tender as grass.

Drove from Joplin to Ark for BBQ-reviews looked good so we took a chance on South Side Smoke Shack and WOW 🤩 So glad we did.Had the ribs and all I can say is fantastic! Smoked to perfection and not dry but juicy. Sides were baked beans and potato salad both were delicious.Cant say enough about the maple bbq sauce except (Oh My) it is the best.South Side Smoke Shack is a bit tricky to find so google Natural State Brewery(which is in back of the strip mall) and the BBQ is right beside it.Very nice and friendly gentleman is the owner (so support local)We ordered our food and ate it in the brewery.We will definitely be back.Cant wait to try the smoked...

The ribs were spectacular. If you like to gnaw on a rib, you’re not gonna be in luck because that meat is so tender it just falls off the bone. Best I’ve ever had. The pulled pork was great as well, but dem ribs, omg. Everything we had was super- potato salad and the pork n beans. I was hesitant on ordering the pork n beans because i had the “canned image” in my head. It’s more like smoked pork and beans with lots of meat and that great Smokey flavor- so glad I took a chance and ordered them. The portions are huge- so bring a friend.
