Located in the town of Fellsmere, Willy’s is an unexpected oasis for locals and visitors alike. The atmosphere is classic honky-tonk but homey, at the same time. It’s an unlikely combination, but somehow they make it work. The atmosphere is driven by manager / bartender Deb and embraced by the rest of the staff. Come in the side door (from the parking lot) and you’ll be acknowledged, greeted and given your preferred beverage, assuming you’re there as often as I am. Food is another unexpected treat. Owner Adam acts as head chef, cooking and introducing new dishes periodically. To say the menu is typical bar food would do Willy’s and Adam a disservice. Fresh ingredients combined with creative recipes generate above average, and in some cases, outstanding results. My favorite is the chili. Simple but classic. Try it with the jalapeño corn bread. Burgers, fried chicken salad and wraps would also be great choices. Willy’s also serves a very robust hotdog, which is next in my list of items to try. And here’s another surprise: Texas Hold-Em poker Saturday through Wednesday with dealers Kevin or Joe. See notquitevegas.net for details.
Obviously, I am a fan. Check out Willy’s if you’re anywhere near Fellsmere. And even if you’re not in the area, I think you would find it’s worth the drive. Tell him...
Read moreCame in and sat for ~15 mins before we got a menu. The staff kept saying they’d be right there. Finally we got a menu and asked what we wanted to drink. They were out of our choices for drink so we settled for water and a beer. She brought water and came back to ask what else we ordered. Finally took our order but they were out of shrimp which why we drove 50 miles to visit here. We settled for a burger and some wings. After 25 mins we asked for status and we’re told they were really backed up and be another 45 mins. We asked for the check and to cancel our order. THAT came pretty quick. Not impressed and will not return. I hate to think there was another reason as we were the only non white people in the place. This is NOT a restaurant. It’s a bar that when too many people order food they are...
Read moreI travel frequently throughout the state of Florida. Willy' Bar & Grill is my favorite stop when traveling to Fellsmere, if you haven't been and driving through town it's a must stop. The food is fabulous, specially the Friday night prime rib. Had the pork and sauerkraut New Years special and it was to die for. The 2 bartenders Deb and Jessica go out of their way to make you feel part of the Willy's family. If your driving through the small town of Fellsmere give it a try, I highly recommend. Great food, service, and entertainment. Oh and the drinks! Try the mudslide, tell them Deb from Cape Coral highly recommended it! Yee-haw! You...
