By happy accident we stopped here for lunch. Well, late lunch. We had the place to ourselves due to a the mid-week post mealtime rush, I would suspect, because I’m sure that at other times it would have been a bit buzzier. Anyway, we received a warm and happy greeting, had some friendly banter about baseball, got a quick lesson on the history of this splendidly restored old house and ate two delicious meals. (Me, sandwich. She, salad). Locals obviously know and love this place, and I could see it would be great for the after-church gatherings, but I know first hand that strangers from Kansas on a Wednesday are equally well served, and you will be too.

Ordered lunch to go. This is my second time. The first time was fantastic everything was good, fresh, and hot. No different this time. Now they did forget to put bacon on my cheeseburger but the chef chased my car down to give me my bacon with apologies. That was definitely a first and was pretty funny. The staff are always friendly and accommodating to whatever requests they get. Plus pretty affordable. Portion sizes are more than enough. Definitely will be back.

Ferdinand is such a picturesque little town and this place was a welcome stop on our cross country road trip. I opted for a lox bagel and my date had a BYO omelet we both had the rosemary potatoes. The place had a nice little bakery case with individual desserts, cake by the slice as well as scones and cookies. It's also on the historic register and has a cool story behind it, which is an added bonus!

We really enjoyed our experience here! Amanda our server was beyond attentive and friendly, she made us feel welcomed and comfortable. The exterior of the restaurant is gorgeous and inside is very cozy, it's a historical building worth visiting. We tried the Monte Cristo and Smothered Chicken sandwiches, both tasted good. The prices are fair - good quality food, great value. We'll be back for breakfast... it would be great to see biscuits and gravy as a regular menu item in the...
