Palace — Restaurant in Ferndale

WARNING

My husband and I walked in to have a drink while enjoying the classic car show on main street, 9-8-18 about 2 30 PM. I was carrying my eco friendly glass water bottle. As we were looking around for where to sit, the bartender yelled at us, "hey, you can't have that bottle in here"! I said "um, it's water". He yelled back, you can't have that in here!" I asked if I could just pour the water out. He continued to yell, "yes, but you have to put it in your purse where I can't see it"! I went out to pour out the water but then just kept walking. He scared the hell out of me, and I'm still shaking as I write this.

This is how you greet customers? Embarrass and scare them?  Worst experience...

The "Palace Saloon" is another "extreme" bar for "DUSA Tour 2016" ... the "westernmost bar" in the lower 48 states 👍

NOT a bar I would recommend (or even city) ...

bartender gave me change for a $10 when I gave him a $20 ... when called him on it his reply was "oh, yeah!" & immediately gave me the $10 he shorted me 😉

why is it bartenders (always has been a male) will NEVER give $20 change for a $10? Hmmmm 😉?

lots of dead animals on walls, BUT old bar picks were GREAT!

I saw my earliest picture of a bar stool ... 1932 👍

Oh well, next "extreme" bar should be "highest elevated" bar in Alma, Colorado ...

Beautiful Old Town Tavern with antique bar mirrors and wainscoting. The drinks are very reasonably priced and bartenders Greg and Daniel are knowledgeable, professional and funny as heck! There are several delicious beers on tap ice cold and served in Tall chilled glasses. Through the front window you can see historic Old Town Victorian Ferndale exactly as it was in turn of the century days. This is a great place to spend the day and...
