I've been xoming to this place for years but today I had a terrible experience. I ordered ice cream on a waffle cone, when I exited & bit into the cone it was extremely chewy so I politely re-entered and told an associate & requested a new cone. She went to what I assume was the store manager who walked away from her, looked me in the face & proceeded to continue doing what she was doing. After a few moments, the associate came out from the back and noticed I was still standing there so she approached the store manager again, pointed at me and said that's the lady right there. The store manager began going back & forth with the associate saying she didn't care and she was helping someone already. So I interjected and asked if a store manager was present, the young lady turned around and said she was the supervisor. Her name was Brittany, I said well can I get a fresh waffle cone. With a complete attitude she responds saying "Well they all are probably that way, I can't do anything about that". I asked her when she saw me was she initially intentionally ignoring me and she blatantly said "Yes" at that point I was turned off and asked for a refund.. another associate helped me with my refund and asked me for my reason for refund "I said, because of poor management and may I have the name of the GM so I can make a formal complaint" out of no where the "supervisor Brittany chimes in to say they can't give out personal information." Instead of going back and forth with this extremely piss poor lady, I proceeded out. As I was walking out she says "Have a nice life". I will never patronize this place again, that was a unnecessary, unprofessional response from someone left...
Read moreThis is very sad. I have followed this place on social media since their beginning.. Since I lived out of town for the last many years I was unable to go until today..
First off when entering the doorway was full of leaves and trash. Upon entering the girl on duty would not look up or greet us.. Kinda felt like we came at a bad time for her? Upon drawing closer to her and asking about the flavors she gave one word answers “ya that’s it etc”.. Her outfit was COVERED in ANIMAL HAIR. It was profusely disgusting.. The store was FILTHY.. Every single glass surface from the coolers (mostly empty crusted with mold on edges) to the doors to the exterior windows were BEYOND DISGUSTING and looked like had not been washed for at least a year or more.. The floor had not been swept in days and every corner had swirls of dirt, mud, leaves etc.. RAW FILTH! The counters in their ridiculously large and unappealing prep area had visibly dirty towels and rags strewn across them among a bunch of other clutter & JUNK.. So incredibly, incredibly sad & disappointing. I hear they are expanding to Grosse Pointe and it will not last long there if they take care of it like that Ferndale location.. It obviously seems that someone is either spoiled with customers and is an ABUSIVE operator or they have given up completely.. I tend to see them as abusive and lazy. It looks as if it’s closing , or possibly for sale? Never never go get ripped off at this filthy, RUDE disgusting ice cream store NEVER!! So disappointing & maddening after expecting it to be so great after all...
Read moreI'm hard pressed to say that I've ever had a flavor here that I didn't like. The only reason I'm leaving a review is because Google prompted me to do so, and I remembered that we felt like jerks coming in a half hour before they closed. What amazed me was how many people kept on showing up, 5, 10, 15 minutes after they were done. The staff kept on accommodating people, near as I can tell, but really management should give them the authority to more harshly tell people "we've been open all day, you had until 9pm to get ice cream. Nine. P. M. Sorry, we aren't serving you." Lock those doors and people on the patio be damned. I think it'd be cool if they did a last call like a bar, and for the last 15 minutes they're open, transform into "Treat Nightmares," and just start being really rude to everyone, ala Ed Debevic's, but now I think I'm just living vicariously through the ice cream shop. I guess I'm putting this here just to say that I love the place, love the product, but if you're a customer walking up to the door at 9:15 on a Sunday, you really need to check yourself. These people don't...
