We've been going there for many years and recently we went for an early dinner. First, We ordered the tropical margarita, it was VERY disappointing. It had no fruity taste at ALL!! It was tequila mixed with ice water. Even the waiter asked if it tasted watered down, that indicated that he knew it was BAD! We sent it back and asked for a strawberry margarita, but same thing, it didn't taste like strawberry and also was overpowered with tequila, I guess we should have asked for shots instead! It clearly shows that the bartenders don't know how to make drinks. The next thing, is the salsa, no flavor whatsoever, we had to add salt, but didnt really help to improve the taste. The main dishes were ok, but, not as good as they used to be. We asked our waitress if there had been a change in management/ownership, she said no, but there were changes to alcohol and food. We were very disappointed, and probably will not...
Read moreThis place is overall good. We usually take out from here on Sunday morning for the menudo con pata which is good but nothing special. Only thing is there's been a good amount of times were they forget the pata or the tortillas for the menudo which sucks. Eating there is cool as it has a very luxurious atmosphere to it. It's the only luxurious Mexican food place in Fillmore so not much to compare with in town. The portions for some of their plates like the mar y tiera plate are more loaded on rice and beans then Carne and shrimp. I would personally want a little more of the main dish then the side dish on my plate. The food is good though sometimes great but nothing out of this world. And the pricing is pretty expensive but it is a little more high end so makes sense. This place is not terrible bit not crazy great just good. Stand out is probably the young workers they have! Lots of them are hardworking...
Read moreIm Mexican American so I normally don't go out for a mexican breakfast that I can cook perfectly and make my own tortillas. But I was away from home and decided to give it a try for breakfast and was surprised by how good the chorizo and eggs where it was one tasty chorizo and I'm really picky when it comes to chorizo. Others ordered chilaquiles plate and huevos divorciados. The only two things I really didn't care for where the yellow handmade corn tortillas they seemed to be under cooked and the chip salsa was just not your usual one since I can taste the Chipotle in it. O and the best part I checked in on Yelp and got a $50 certificate for only $25! That covered most of our check. I live near the two Ontario locations so I'll most likely not be around this one but I'll sure keep it in mind....
