With moving to the area, I started researching and lining up restaurants to visit. Bimini Twist was on the list. Before you go, make a reservation. Anytime we drove by, we noticed the parking lot was always full. When we arrived (with a reservation) we noted that there were already people waiting for a table - and it was before 6:00! We passed full tables on the way to ours. There was a sheet with daily chef specials. In addition to that, there are daily drink specials - being Wednesday, it was 20% off a split or bottle of wine. We each ordered martinis and ordered one of the daily specials as an appetizer - hot crab dip served with house made tortilla chips. The dip itself was about cup size, full of pulled crab, no filler noted, smothered in melted cheese. We devoured it and continued to eat the chips when the dip was done. Since we were celebrating, we ordered a split of champagne (20% off!) with our meal. I ordered the filet with a topping of crab in bernaise sauce with a loaded baked potato and a side of spinach. My husband had seafood pescatore, "Make it spicy!" he requested, with a side of spinach. We took home most of the sides to finish enjoying another night (they were large.) My filet was done to my temperature request, and very good, though the bernaise was a little bland. My husband loved the pescatore, pleased that the chef had made it spicy as he requested. The portions were large, hence the leftovers. The atmosphere was vibrant with people happily enjoying the food. There is outdoor seating but outdoor temperatures are not comfortable. We did see some people sitting outside but suspect that was the only way they could get a table. MacKenzie was a friendly server who was attentive despite covering many tables. We will be visiting Bimini Twist again.

Nothing really special about this place. Made a reservation and they couldn't seat us on time. I approached the hostess stand ~10 minutes prior to let them know that I'm the first of my party and that they'll be here shortly.. They didn't ask the name, just bluntly stated to come back when I have everyone.. We come back and they're struggling to seat a large party and don't have availability for us. We get stuck sitting outside, by ourselves which was kind of nice in its own way, but our table wasn't visited frequently as a resul. We even had to find the server at one point. It was raining and the seemingly busy, yet glued to her phone, hostess walked us out the front of the restaurant, through the rain, to our table instead of through the restaurant, despite being a visibly clear path.. Not the end of the world for most, but we had two elders with us, one that was visibly struggling with walking.. But sure, let's take everyone through the rain and risk slipping.. Our server was an absolute delightful ball of energy and super charismatic and charming! Answered all of our questions and took great care of us for the most part. Drinks ran low multiple times, and we were told she was grabbing bread 3x times before she finally brought some out after our dinner was served.. A bit backwards.. I wish I could say more about the atmosphere, but the outside at night was rather dull. Let alone the staff was seemingly in a hurry to go home, so they closed most of the outside walls/windows which caused a staleness of airflow and just felt rather uncomfortable after being "Too busy" for our reservation. We had an issue with one of the dishes our server recommended, that's apparently going to be featured on their up and coming tv show. While there was nothing wrong with it, it was simply underwhelming. Specially for the prices. Thankfully our server was super kind and polite and took care of it for us! Yet someone approached our table.. We have no idea who... He didn't introduce him self, nor even greet us. Just a dry "I heard you didn't like your dish?" We commented and he merely walked away... Super awkward. Was that a manager? Chef? Patron? Homeless person?. We just know he was bald, wearing a touristy style shirt and seemed to be approaching more tables inside with dread. Guess we weren't the only ones having a bad experience. As far as my meal, the side salad was as great as one can be. The baked potato was merely that. The grilled salmon with jumbo lump crab and tropical aioli sauce was well.... Decent. Sauce was very flavorful, complimenting and well paired. Crab portion seemed rather light for a $38 dish. -$6 potato, and -$6 for side salad, per menu, and essentially paid $26 for a mere slice of good grilled salmon, small bit of good crab, and a good sauce. The only reason I'm not giving this a 1 star is due to the absolutely charming server. Even though she was a bit behind on drinks/bread, you could tell she's really passionate about what she does and it's hard to even comment on her faults if I'm being honest. Truly was a caring delight! Yet, for a $400 outing, we would've been much happier at a mere Flanigans for half the price. I cannot recommend this place for a multude of reasons which is truly saddening. I really hope management can heed this review and turn this place around. There's so much potential.

We came here to celebrate my birthday and it was a disappointment. The venue is nice, lots of indoor and outdoor sitting with a bar with a laid back but elegant feeling. My sister had been there before and she recommended it, so we came. We ordered the fried calamari, it comes with marinara sauce to dip. The calamari is ok. I like it better when restaurants ise a corn based batter. The marinara sauce is bland, no flavor of any kind, nothing. I ordered the sweet chili sauce instead and tha was a huge improvement. As main dishes we ordered the risotto with shrimp, fish and chips, and I ordered the macadamia nut crusted snapper with mashed potatoes and sweet potatoe fries (I know, two starches?). The risotto lacked flavor and it was not hot, more like room temperature, but the shrimp were tasty and cooked well. The fish I ordered was awful. All you could taste was oil. They brought me rice insyead of mashed potatoes, but the rice was bland an cold. So I told the server about the mix up. The mashed potatoes were bland, no flavor of any kind, boring. The sweet potato fries was the only good rhung about my order. But I asked the server to take my dish away, I was done. The only good dish was the fish and chips. The halibut was thick and moist, and good batter. The chips were also good. Simce it was my birthday dinner we ordered the apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream. That was excellent. I might give them a second try amdnsee of it was an off night, we came on a Wednesday. However, for the lack of quality in the food, the prices do not reflect it. I expected more. Most of the food we had was just bland and lacks any kind of flavor profiles, just...blah.

After leaving the bar we were sat at our table and enjoy a wonderful meal. Sea Bass, Steak and Lobster $180. It was 8:25pm we asked for our check paid and immediately asked the server for two additional drinks the restaurant has plenty of open tables. Our server was like no problem my manager can reopen the check. She comes back and says unfortunately we have a 830 reservation for this table. Basically telling us its 8:25 its time to go she said you can go to the bar. My date insists we go to the bar so we do however I decided to keep and eye on the seat we just left and of course no one ever goes to the table and the restaurant is full of open tables. We spend $200 on three tabs total tipped accordingly. I even took a video to prove we asked to leave our seats when in fact the restaurant knew there truly was no reservations for that table of any other table. We had 6 cocktails total spent great money only to be treated poorly when in fact at 825pm the restaurant was slow and they didnt need the table. I can ONLY think because we are BLACK they didnt want us there. At 8:59pm i got up and took a video of all the empty tables including the very table we were asked to basically leave after we asked for another drink due to another reservation. I would recommend you go somewhere else and be treated with respect after spending $200 for two people. I would appreciate the management to reach out to me because indeed the server said the manager said there was a reservation so someone was lying because there was no one at that table and many other tables and I have video footage to prove so…..

I ordered the seafood Pescatore ( linguini ) with a lobster tail. This dish comes with mussels, clams, calamari, shrimp, scallops, lobster tail and linguini *sounds amazing. I ordered this because I saw a picture of it on the reviews, in this picture it was more broth than Linguini but when I ordered it, it was more Linguini, little broth and a little dry. I ignored it because the rest of the dish looked so good but the minute I bit into the muscles it was extremely Sandy, gritty and there was actually a little rock I pulled out of my mouth. I thought maybe it was just that one but I tried another and the rocks I bit into made me jump! This is my first review for a restaurant ever I hate to be the one to complain but I could not continue to eat my food because it was so gritty. Our waitress Victoria was amazing I explained it to her and she instantly talked to her manager and brought out some more broth for me and brought a side of clams. Granted the broth she brought me was sauce and not broth but at the end of the night I left pretty hungry and really bummed. I'm driving home now to recook this meal that I paid $30 for, also for all that trouble the manager didn't even discount the meal at all which is really surprising. Like I said I'm not the type to complain or to expect discounts but for me to have to recook this at home I shouldn't have had to pay full price. I didn't take a picture of the rock, didn't expect to be writing a review :(

I have to update this review. 6-years ago I gave them 5-stars. There were a number of reason to include the consistancy of the food, the portion size, the quality, and the service. But, right before COVID, every part of what I just name started to decline at an accelorated rate. The food portions became smaller and smaller, the prices raised, and the serivce became a thing of the past (You can see by the $6.00 salad, or what they call a salad). If you highlight how your meal is completely wrong, Paul will eventually make his way over to the table and try to appologize for his employees and not being able to make the food properly, the service, and/or the quality of the enviroment. Be aware Paul will comp a meal, but if you sent a meal back, he will only comp one meal and not the second one they rang in to remake your food. BE VERY AWARE WHEN YOU GET YOUR BILL TO MAKE SURE BOTH OF THE ITEMS ARE TAKEN OFF! At one time, this literally one of the only higher class dining establishments in the area. But, if you think that you are coming for a finer dining establishment, that is the farthest thing you are getting. The only thing fine about this place is their pricing. To be clear, this is not a one time review, this is a review that we have been numerous times pre-COVID and post COVID. If you want disappointment, that is what coming to the place will bring you. I would tell you head to other places that are now prevelant and in the area.
