Portside Restaurant Review:
A Culinary Gem in West Palm Beach Nestled in the heart of West Palm Beach, Portside Restaurant is a vibrant coastal eatery that effortlessly blends relaxed charm with culinary excellence.
Specializing in breakfast and lunch, this waterfront gem offers a menu brimming with creativity, elevated comfort food, and a level of service that leaves a lasting impression. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Portside promises an experience as refreshing as its breezy, nautical-inspired ambiance.
Ambiance: Coastal Elegance Meets Warmth
The moment you step inside, Portside’s inviting coastal decor sets the tone. Think weathered wood accents, maritime artwork, and ample natural light streaming through large windows that frame views of the nearby marina.
The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between sophistication and laid-back comfort, making it ideal for everything from leisurely weekend brunches to business lunches. Outdoor seating is available for those who want to soak up Florida’s sunshine while dining.
Menu Highlights: A Feast for the Senses
Portside’s menu is a love letter to fresh, locally sourced ingredients, with dishes that showcase both innovation and familiarity. While the entire selection impresses, the pork belly entrees are nothing short of legendary.
Breakfast: Start your day with the Pork Belly Benedict—a masterful twist on the classic. Succulent, caramelized pork belly sits atop a crispy potato rosti, crowned with a velvety poached egg and hollandaise that’s rich but not overwhelming. Pair it with their robust, locally roasted coffee. Vegetarians will adore it!
Service: World-Class Hospitality What truly elevates Portside is its exceptional service. The staff radiates warmth and professionalism, ensuring every guest feels valued. Leading the charge is Anna, the host and customer service maestro, whose genuine kindness and attention to detail set the tone. She greets regulars by name, remembers dietary preferences, and effortlessly navigates busy periods with grace. The waitstaff is equally attentive—knowledgeable about menu nuances, prompt with recommendations, and always one step ahead with drink refills or extra napkins.
Final Verdict: A Must-Visit Destination Portside Restaurant isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. From the dreamworthy pork belly creations to the serene waterfront vibe and Anna’s unparalleled hospitality, every element feels thoughtfully curated. Whether you’re craving a decadent brunch or a refined lunch with a view, Portside delivers. Pro tip: Arrive early on weekends to snag a patio seat, or pop in midweek for a quieter vibe.

Read moreMy experience with Portside in West Palm today for breakfast was outstanding. Upon entering, I was quickly greeted by the hostess. She brought me a cup of coffee which was not sitting round for hours. It was fresh. I ordered the chicken and waffle, which only took a short time to be brought out. I could not believe how high the chicken was stacked on the waffle, 5 nice size pieces! The food was hot, cooked properly, and tasty. The dish was more than I could finish. The service was excellent. All I needed to do was to turn my head with a 'question' on my face, and out of nowhere, popped someone who asked what I needed. Every one of the staff had a polite and pleasant demeanor. I found the establishment to be very clean, and contrary to other reviews I've read, there were no flies buzzing around. They have a small outside eating area if you like fresh air with your food. Prices were typical for the area, and the food portions are commensurate with prices. I did find a few things disconcerting. I didn't like the small fee charged for credit card use, which they claimed was to offset expenses. It's the cost of doing business, and should not be passed on to the customer. In addition, a 20% tip is applied to parties of more than 4 people. A tip is voluntary and the amount is based upon the service rendered good or bad, not on the amount of guests in the party. Such charges are becoming 'normalized' in restaurants, but for me, not acceptable. The place is small, and it will get busy on the weekends, therefore, waiting for a table, is not unusual. I cannot speak for the validity of other reviews, but I tell it 'like it is': Overall, it's a nice place to have a tasteful breakfast, and I will be going back. That being said, give the place a try yourself, and make your own judgement. By the way, their hot honey sauce...
Read moreWas excited to try this new cafe/restaurant as there are not alot of breakfast/brunch places out that way......and they did NOT disappoint!!!! They hit on every level! As soon as you walk in, you are immediately greeted by a friendly hostess and a warm smile. The atmosphere is simple yet elegant. They offer inside and outdoor seating. The outdoor patio is nicely decorated and very inviting. Inside is bright and cheerful and impeccably clean as well. Their menu is small but offers a great selection of breakfast, brunch and lunch. I opted for breakfast and went with their unique French Toast casserole. Nice size portion, slightly crunchy on the outside and super soft and delicious on the inside. Great flavor, not dense at all, with a perfect light and airy texture. My husband went with the bacon cheeseburger and fries. I was impressed by the size (not every girl can say that lol)! The bacon was crispy, the burger was juicy and full of flavor. We also shared the lemon ricotta beignets which was a lovely surprise. Slight crunch on the outside and pure heaven inside with just a hint of lemon, dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled with a creamy chocolate espresso fondue. Our server was very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and made good suggestions. The owner, Franky was walking around, greeting all the customers, taking his time to make aure everyone was satisfied and it was easy to see his dedication and passion. The entire staff is friendly and helpful and all appear to work well together. I highly recommend everyone giving them a try. I hope they are around for a long time because it's not often you find restaurants these days with excellent food, terrific service, and a welcoming atmosphere. They are doing it right folks, don't...
