We came here for Mother’s Day lunch after spending the day on the beach. It was our first time here. There was no wait time. We were sat immediately.
We had several different people wait on us. The original waiter who had taken our order was never seen again and a young lady ended up taking care of us. The service was very spotty. We sometimes had to get up and go ask for things.
We ordered the calamari as an appetizer. The calamari was very good- but I was shocked that they didn’t bring it with any lemon on the side. We asked for lemon, but they never brought it. We also ordered the tostones as an appetizer and again, I was shocked that they didn’t bring a creamy dipping sauce. Instead it had a garlicky olive oil for dipping. I’ve never seen that be used as a dipping sauce for a fried food. We asked the waiter if they had a creamy sauce for it- like a cilantro lime dip, or garlic aioli but he said they didn’t. 🤷🏼♀️
I ordered a Cosmopolitan for my drink. It was good.
My husband and daughter both ordered the Mahi Mahi blackened. I’m be came out blackened and the other was just grilled. Again, neither came with a lemon wedge. 🤔 My son ordered the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and he liked it. It was a big plate and he had leftovers. My other daughter had the shrimp scampi and really liked it. She also had leftovers. I ordered the yellowtail fish with a side of mashed potatoes and a side salad. Mine was pretty good. I just wish they would give lemon with every fish order.
We had to wait a long time for our check and to ask for to-go boxes. I might go back just for the location but not have very high expectations for service or food. Some food was good (5⭐️), but some...
Read moreEspanol al final. After waiting more than an hour for the order to come they served my wife a dish with fish with a lot of scales. I asked her to return it at once but she said she was so hungry after waiting so long that she ate a little bit to find the fish was also raw and she could not continue eating. I complained to the waiter and he said there was nothing he could do. It gave me the impression he was used to complaints and immediately suggested I talked to the manager who I later found out he is the type of person who believes the customer is never right. Even after a discount of $ 9 for my complaint, the bill for a pasta dish, a fried fish and a beer cost over $ 70. Waiter and manager were rude. The place had a one man filthy restroom. You have to wait for one man to go in and come out before you can get in the restroom, I had to wait for other half a dozen guys to go before it was my turn. I think they serve the fish with scales so that people can't eat them all to scale them and make croquettes with them. We were not the only ones complaining. Awful place I felt ripped off. I would advice all to keep away from that place. Sitio malo, carisimo y pesimo servicio.
Read moreChecked out Boater’s Grill today. Not impressed by far. Prior to stopping there our party had stopped at the Lighthouse Cafe (which has way better service, btw), had a light snack and ventured the lighthouse. We wanted to check out the other restaurant in the state park and now I wished we wouldn’t have. That experience left quite the negative feeling on the adventure to one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited in Florida. We placed a drink order and an appetizer with our server, Jefferson, while pondering over our other options. Immediately afterward, an unpleasant employee there named Barbie, came to our table and spoke to us harshly in another language. We explained that we spoke English, and she said to us, “You’re not ordering food?!” in such a nasty tone. We were so confused and taken back as we did order something and we were debating a dessert selection (since we had a little something at the cafe). We explained that we did order something and we were met with nothing but attitude. It made the rest of the stop there unpleasant, we finished our beverages and appetizer as quickly as possibly, and left as soon as we could. We chose to have our dessert outside the park as the vibe there was terrible. I will be telling everyone to avoid the Boater’s Grill and head over to the Lighthouse Cafe instead. (They basically have the same menu anyways with a more pleasant atmosphere) Jefferson’s muscles were definitey better than the service, and Barbie needs to be...
