I have to preface this review by stating I live in Boca Raton and we have fabulous steak houses. But this one came recommended on our vacation and they certainly charge fine steak house prices so I held it to that standard. I’ll give a course by course breakdown for my party of 3 as we scored it. BREAD - actually one of the best parts of the meal. Warm and crusty exterior with fluffy and yeasty inside. Served with room temp butter (perfect!). SALAD - house with vinaigrette, very nice. Not wow, but yummy and chilled. For an app we did a side from the specials menu which was advertised as “CRÈME BRÛLÉE BACON AND JALEPENO CREAMED CORN”. Very underwhelmed. When I hear crème brûlée I’m imagining a crispy sugared something on top. It’s literally a gloopy, underseasoned creamed corn. If I was served this at a chain restaurant, I’d be thrilled. $18 at a fine steak house? Wouldn’t cut it in my neck of the woods. My sister ordered a mocktail and was promptly told they were out of a necessary ingredient. We ordered the carrot one instead. Ick. Ginger beer watered down with carrot juice served in a small, plain water glass. Nothing special or appetizing about it, $12. STEAKS - they were ok. Hard to mess up a good cut of steak, and they were decent cuts. Slightly dry if I’m being very picky. But buttered and salted well. The porterhouse was a little skimpy for the advertised 28 ounces. But it was fine. My moms filet was tender and well cooked, I thought hers was a generous size. But we need to discuss THE SIDES. I cannot stress this enough. They were terrible. The standard carrot the steaks are advertised with? I’ve never seen a more awkward vegetable on a plate. Frankly I think even the carrot was uncomfortable. Just a large, peeled, tasteless carrot. Very mildly sweet, no salt, I know it wasn’t canned but that’s all I can compare it to. A bland sweet-ish carrot. The “CRISPY POTATOES WITH ONIONS AND PEPPERCORN GRAVY”. This was heartbreaking. No crisp. Bland and gelatinous diner gravy. If it was served to me at a backwoods diner? Maybe a nod. At a fine steakhouse?? Terrible. The cream of spinach side was “good”. So something of a mixed bag but overall, If you are used to fine steak houses you will be disappointed, if you’re used to Texas Roadhouse you’ll think it’s great but...
Read moreVERY DISAPPOINTED. I have never posted a review but this was a special occasion. It was our anniversary and we are new to the area. I booked dinner on a Tuesday evening. The hostess was very professional and kind. As we were being escorted to our table we were originally seated in a corner with a 30 person table on the left of us. I asked if they had a table that was more secluded. They said only in the bar area. Fast forward. My wife ordered a filet and I ordered the ribeye and appetizers. A evening that I was planning on spending around $300.00 with $65.00 steaks drinks and appetizers. When the drinks and appetizers arrived they were tasty and the server was nice but she was obviously task saturated because she was also working the bar area. When our main course arrived. My wife’s dish was good, but my meal was HORRIBLE. The ribeye was one large piece of fat. It was so disappointing that after 10 mins and finally gaining the servers attention to tell her. She asked how was the steak. I replied. I’m so sorry to say but this is really really bad. She asked if I wanted to return it to the kitchen. I said no thank you and just asked my wife to continue to enjoy her meal. Very frustrating that I had to share my wife meal with her on our anniversary. If I would’ve sent my steak back but my wife said she would wait to eat until my meal arrived to continue eating Then both of our meals would’ve been inedible. At that point the server seemed to just give up on our table. She never provided refills and asked if we wanted more drinks or wine. When the server saw that I took a picture of my steak. That’s when she approached the table and asked about dessert and stated that she would adjust the bill for my meal. Again never asked if we wanted refills or coffee. When the desert arrived she also gave us two glasses of champagne but then proceeded to place the check down. I paid the bill and had to accept the idea that the evening was ruined. 1...
Read moreWe tried to book a reservation online, but it said it was full until two days later. We took the chance to go anyway and ask, and they had openings because of cancellations, but they have bar seating available.
I really wanted the blue cheese salad, but knowing I would never eat that and a meal. My husband convinced me that we could just share a meal and the salad, but he underestimated just how much you were actually getting. They bring you around loaf of bread to start that is very fresh, but don’t fall for it… The meal is a better thing to fill up on. Our server, was kind enough to offer to split everything in the back for us , so the picture of the salad is only half of what we actually got. You could tell that they make their own salad dressing; it was absolutely fantastic and that would’ve been more than enough for me to eat in itself. We chose to go for the added scallops with our steak and they were probably the best scallops I’ve ever had in my life. I asked for the steak to be less done than I normally would have for purposes of splitting, and my husband likes it less done than me as well as if there is anything left over it wouldn’t be good to reheat. I was pretty full anyway, but there wasn’t much steak at the temperature I would eat, so I didn’t have much. My husband and I both thought it was an amazing cut of steak and practically melted in your mouth. It didn’t need any kind of sauce at all. I am not a fan of carrots and thought the giant carrot was strange,. My husband ate his whole carrot, and I just took a bite. It tasted fine, but just not my thing. The potatoes were really delicious. As I mentioned before, she split everything for us, so the picture of the two steaks is one meal split in half. Very nice place, excellent service and...
