This is the brother (sister?) shop to Dunedin Vegan Deli. I have been longingly staring at Dunedin's pictures on Instagram for months but never wanted to drive all the way. I was stoked when the Brandon location opened up.
I've been to the Brandon Vegan Deli twice. The first time was very personable as there were three people working and three customers in the deli. The lady at the counter took me through the menu, answered my questions and gave me a small point around tour of the shop. I was stuck between two sandwiches and she helped me decide. I went with the Vegan Cuban and a Red Headed Sloot Blonde Brownie from Dunn Baked by Rach.
On the second visit they were dealing with people calling off so it was one person taking orders and making food. Thankfully I knew what I wanted from my previous visit and I only needed someone to take my order and make it. I went with the Korean BBQ and a 221 BC Kombucha.
The sandwiches were great. I loved the Cuban and it was easy to eat. The BBQ tasted great but was very messy (which I was warned about). I loved the brownie too. This food is by no means vegan health food. It is a shop that takes some famous meat sandwiches and veganizes them. I'm all about that. Some people are not.
If you are in Brandon (or Dunedin or Ybor now) stop by the vegan deli. Order a sandwich or take some of their vegan meat to go...
Read moreMy husband and I were in town visiting family a few weeks ago and wanted to try at least one dedicated vegan restaurant while in town and were not disappointed. We got a cuban and Italian sandwich as well as some wings to go. The sandwiches were excellent a d the staff delightful very attentive and helpful. However the wings we didn't get to eat till we got back home in Valdosta but oh how I wish we would of eaten them earlier they traveled great and were next level amazing! They were one of those vegan items that make you question if they truly are. I'm happy to see them expanding into the ybor area and hope for continued growth for them as they are a wonderful experience with...
Read moreIncredible food and great staff. I went in looking for recommendations because the whole menu looked overwhelmingly good, and the gent at the register described the most popular dishes to help me decide. The bbq crackaroni wrap was SO good and was a lot of food for the price. It’s not exactly cheap but it’s what you could expect for a restaurant that pays its employees a living wage and sources food ethically and sustainably. I love supporting business that promote kindness towards animals. Also their fake-meat heavy menu is a good way to get carnivores to dip into the vegan world. I’ll totally be coming back for...
