Cheers on the Beach Pub & Grill, 3830 South Highway A1A, Suite 2, Melbourne Beach- 4.5-Stars

The hardest part of being a successful restaurant is the FOOD! Location…. meaningless; Name…not relevant. You serve fantastic food, and the people will come. The victuals at Cheers Pub & Grill in Melbourne Beach are delightful, inviting, and prepared with utmost care by a skilled chef. The key to these great flavors is the seasoning. Unlike at most restaurants, the chef at Cheers apparently truly cares about what comes out of the kitchen.

This lovely restaurant is in South Melbourne Beach in the Publix Plaza. The owner, Joanne Lee, is a delightful lady truly dedicated to making Cheers a success. Sandi, the bartender/wait staff, is very charming and competent, which is refreshing to see today.

Let’s talk about the awe-inspiring food. First up was the blackened mahi-mahi special. The fish--flaky, gorgeous, and melt-in-your-mouth--was drizzled with a savory (yes you heard me correctly) raspberry glaze.

I also had the patty melt. Although I typically despise caramelized onions and usually ask to leave them off, I forgot. To my surprise, the onions were cooked fresh and then caramelized making them a welcome addition. The patty melt at Cheers is an actual burger that can be cooked to temp. I chose medium rare. Nice.

As for the final protein, I cannot speak highly enough about it. The blackened shrimp taco had jumbo fresh high-grade shrimp, fresh tomatoes, and a grilled tortilla. Not sure how they can serve such expensive shrimp at this price point, but I suggest getting them while you can.

As an aside, I recommend you try the sweet potato fries dusted with sea salt.

Forget the goofy name and don’t worry about the drive. The Big Boy says, ā€œGet your appetite to Cheers on the Beach Pub & Grill in Melbourne Beach lickety-split.ā€...

I have to give this place a MASSIVE shout out. Truly is one of the best restaurants in Brevard County. Jo Jo and Ken are the owners and they run a tight ship and a top notch restaurant. The food is incredible and you would never know that by its unassuming appearance in a local shopping center. Their food is home made, from scratch. Their head chef defines comfort when it comes to elevated comfort food. Their fish and chips ARE THE BEST IN BREVARD PERIOD! Their chopped steak is like grandma chose you as her favorite and she made a meal that you will talk about until your old age. Their beef stroganoff is extraordinary. I travel THREE HOURS to eat here. Everything I’ve eaten here is exceptional. You simply can’t go wrong. Now this place is like the TV show Cheers in that this is the locals place. Everybody knows your name. They have giant projectors for sports, they have activities like trivia, Karaoke, and fantastic live bands. All of that is great, a lot of fun, very comforting casual friendly atmosphere, but that is secondary to the quality of the meal you will eat, the expertly prepared crafted cocktails they will prepare, and the welcoming, friendly atmosphere you will encounter every time you enter the room. This is Brevard County’s best kept secret but I’m letting the cat out of the bag. I’ve traveled all over this great United States of America and this place is among my favorite restaurants in this country. Great food, great atmosphere, great service, and most importantly…. CONSISTENT. I...

Just a great, fun place... Originally started coming for the karaoke and very cool bar atmosphere. A couple times we got there early and had Burgers which were perfectly cooked and just delicious. Burgers were so good we stop by for lunch a few times to again enjoy burgers. Then our friend Rose told us we had a try the Chicken Francaise. I was a bit hesitant not expecting this to be a place that I would order Chicken Francaise. This dish at Cheers along with the fettuccine alfredo... just outstandingly delicious. The serving was quite large and I was happy to know I would have leftovers for lunch. Never happened because it was so good I could not go to sleep that night until I finished every morsel. I'd like to try the fish and chips because that dish looked very good as did the meatloaf dinner however there are still more hamburgers to try and with that chicken francaise being that good I don't know that I want to order anything but!! Still the best place around for karaoke by people so good you might think you were at variety tribute band show. Great service and the owner almost always checks in to make sure everything is okay and you're having...

We tried something new this weekend and wish that we had discovered this place sooner! Cheers has such a fun environment, Live music and AMAZING food! We took the kids with us and we all had fun! Our daughter and her friend even took the stage singing karaoke! I am not kidding, the best fries I have had in my entire life, our son is quite the cheeseburger connoisseur and he said that this place served the best he has ever tasted! I ordered the Coq Au Vin and my husband ordered the NY strip, both were phenomenal! Huge screens for watching games, amazing menu and service! Please support our local buisness, Cheers on the Beach! Great food, great entertainment. Ken and JoJo have really put so much time and effort into this!

āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø Fantastic Place! I only wish I had known about Cheers sooner! The atmosphere is very clean, friendly, & welcoming. The place has a beachy vibe with interesting decor (each piece has a story). I had a juicy burger that was cooked perfectly, the specially made cheese is an upscale touch, not your regular run of the mill cheese slice like most places (if you are a cheese connoisseur, this is IT!) & the fries were crisp on the outside, perfect consistency on the inside. Meals are very satisfying. I can’t wait to go back & try out other items! Big WIN for beachside dining! šŸ™ŒšŸ½
