We stopped in on opening day! Beautiful venue, comfortable and friendly staff and guests. The dirty Martini was delicious, and the beer was cold. Nice selection of wines, specialty cocktails, domestic & craft beers. I'm looking forward to trying the food the next time.
The staff is extremely friendly. On-site parking with easy access, too. Here is a review after eaten here numerous times: Great service, ambiance, and delicious food.
We go at least once a week and always enjoy ourselves. Time for the food review! (This is what we've tried so far)
APPETIZERS we've tried: Dumplings - a hit (choice of pork or mushroom). The dumpling dough is tender, and the pork filling is point on. They are served with soy sauce, chili crisp, and peanuts. We've ordered these numerous times, and the kitchen has been consistent in the presentation and quality.
Crispy Calamari - lightly breaded with shishito peppers, cabbage, and lemon ginger aioli. The calamari was served in strips, which I liked. The first time I had the calamari, it was best I'd ever tried; crispy and the peppers were a nice size and presented on top of the calamari. The second time I ordered the calamari, it was disappointing. The presentation was unappealing, with the peppers being hidden and greasy, and the calamari was soggy. It was nothing like the first time I ordered it. The third time I ordered the calamari, it was good, not great. The plate looks different every time and doesn't quite taste the same. Hope the kitchen gets this ironed out.
SUSHI: Clear Sky - tempura shrimp, avocada, cucumber; spicy mayo, and topped with spicy tuna. They were out of the seaweed salad, unfortunately.
Spicy Tuna - spicy Saku tuna topped with spicy mayo, eel sauce, and tobiko. This roll was accompanied by seaweed salad.
Both rolls were outstanding. My fav, though, was the Clear Sky.
Ahi Tuna Nachos - fried wonton, tomatoes, Ahi tuna, avocado, quesi fresco, cabbage, sweet soy, and cusabi dressing, topped with sesame seeds. Our friends ordered this and raved about it.
Empanda - stuffed with beef, potatoes, and mozzarella and deep-fried! Served with cilantro lime aioli. Very good.
HANDHELDS Po Boy - fried shrimp or grouper, Old Bay aioli, lettuce, tomato, pickle served on a La Segunda roll. Not New Orleans, but very tasty.
Very nice place, friendly staff, great service. We're happy they...
Read moreWe are thrilled to have a nice local restaurant within walking distance of our home. It is a great place for drinks and happy hour reasonably priced appetizers are good and plentiful. Atmosphere is pleasant, sometimes noisy but it’s a bar so you can’t control all the noise. Love the garage doors that open in nice weather. We have already made some great friends here with the staff and local residents. Nicole and Colby greet us when we come in the door and provide excellent service and pleasant conversations when they aren’t swamped with bar customers. We often eat at the bar when they are working. Jamie , Cam and Harrison seem to be “ Jack of all trades” and I don’t think the place could function without them. “Most “ servers have provided excellent service. We prefer high tops in the bar or at the bar when dining in.
I always try to give a fair review if I bother to do one at all. The food is a concern as I want this Clear Sky to be successful. We are here at least 3 times a week. The food is very inconsistent. The Christmas Day menu and food could rank along some of the best meals that I have eaten in a restaurant. The chicken piccata was the best I ever had the “first” time we dined there. We took family there for prime rib night and it was cold . Always happens when you brag about a place. Several times we have complained and they have corrected the problem but I hate to...
Read more1st time here, after many friends said it was good. I'm not really sure of what to expect because the menu is expansive. Usually, with a huge menu, the food is mediocre. It was hard to decide what to eat, and all of it sounded good. But it's difficult to find a good salad and I ordered the greek blackened salmon. It was traditional with pepperoncini, red onion, beets, tomato, feta, and potato salad. The piece of salmon was perfect serving and was cooked to perfection. There is nothing worse than a dried out piece of fish. It was one of the best salads I've found at a restaurant. I'm still salivating thinking about it. My companion has the salmon burger. It had a good flavor but could have used a dollop of lemon ginger aioli on the side, as it was a little dry. Otherwise, it was delicious. They have a great happy hour every day 2-6, my Titos was $5.00 and a good pour. The atmosphere was bustling, definitely because of the happy hour. There is a small dining area that is much more quiet. But otherwise, the bar area is why it's at, huge bar to sit at, and lots of high tops to not feel left out. I am looking forward to returning soon. I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures, which is not like me as I take pictures of most of my food. Stay tuned for...
