Connie's Deli — Restaurant in Florida

I visited the restaurant on 9/22 @ 11am. It was a wonderful day and Connie's has great outdoor seating and a great secluded location. We sat out back and ordered a cold Italian sub, belly buster hot dog and the basic two egg breakfast with bacon. You know the feeling when the people who ordered after you receive your food before you? That was me. After 30 minutes, we still hadn't received our order. I went inside to the bar to find our sandwich and hot dog sitting on the counter waiting to be delivered. It looked like the cook was trying to cook the eggs and had just finished prepping a bunch of home fries. Once the eggs were done, the cook graciously apologized and I delivered our order to the table. The sub was pretty good with a nice loaf of bread and tasty cuts of Italian deli meat. The hot dog seemed small and didn't live up to the 1/4 pound side. I think we received the small hot dog instead. The breakfast was where it all went wrong. The potatoes were not cooked and had that raw crunch. They were over seasoned with some weird red or orange seasoning. It left an awful bitter after taste in my mouth. The bacon was cold. I noticed the cook didn't take the bacon of the grill rather she took it from a plastic bin sitting off to the side of the grill. I suggest at least placing it under a meat press for a few seconds. At this point, I didn't bother eating the eggs since we had been at the restaurant for almost an hour and needed to leave. I took the food back inside to the counter and explained the situation. The server was very pleasant and understanding. But, the cook made a comment stating, "it's those f-ing potatoes, they're no good!" Normally, the language wouldn't bother me but I was surprised she didn't offer to make it right. To make matters worse, they charged me for the breakfast.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Connie's Deli, located at 4360 Carraway Place in Sanford, FL, with some friends, and I must say it was an excellent experience. The outdoor patio offered a lovely view of the marina, and the ambiance was pleasant and relaxing. Despite being busy, our server did a great job, and she was friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to accommodate my food allergy, which made me feel comfortable and safe. I ordered the cheeseburger with Swiss cheese and barbecue sauce, and it was delicious and reasonably priced. Overall, I highly recommend Connie's Deli. This rating is for exceptional service with a smile! My husband and I were at the marina to look at the floating cottage and options to tie up our boat, as we had reserved it for an upcoming weekend. As we were walking through the breezeway beside the entrance to Connie's, we commented to each other, "oh we just missed it, they just closed." A sweet lady came out of the screened in area immediately and said come on in if you'd like to get a bottled drink or a snack, I can take of you! We were thirsty for sure and grateful for the offer. She went out of her way for us, and I call that exceptional service! She was super friendly, genuine, and gave us both menus. I'm so bad at remembering names, but she had short brown hair and glasses. Can't wait to get there next...
