Conquistador Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Florida

We made reservations for a birthday dinner. We arrived and got water from, Israel, a waiter called in to help the other waitresses. He was not a waiter at this restaurant. After 45 mins without a waiter/ waitress coming to our table, we complained to the hostess and a waitress that kept passing by our table to serve other large tables. About 10 mins after that, Israel, came back to our table and helped take our order and stayed he had no idea what was on the menu. He was so kind and helpful to get our meal to us. Great attitude! We finally had our meal 75 mins later. Food was terrible. Rolls were very old and tasted like they had been reheated many times over. Chicken was dry. Fries were barely hot. Bread pudding was gummy. I do not usually leave a review, however, Israel made our night better and for that I wanted to commend him and to warn people that prices for the food were overpriced for the quality we’re received. We have dined here a few times & it was very good. But tonight we went to celebrate my son’s birthday & unfortunately a trip through Chipotle’s drive-thru would have been a nice meal compared to our meals this evening.

My husband & my son ordered steaks (they ended up requesting A1 & used a lot.) The steaks were cooked way too much. My son had requested med rare. I felt bad for him, I really wanted to treat him to a nice meal. My son’s gf and I had the salmon. It was ok but far from good. Found the menu on the Magical Dining site. Saw some dishes we really wanted to try and happy we did. I had the French onion soup which was very good. The macadamia chicken was juicy and flavorful and came with mango pico de gallo. My wife had the spinach artichoke dip and cedar plank salmon with pesto topping.
