Food is below mediocre. We ordered fajitas for two and a queso chorizo.
Though the portion of the fajitas feeds 2 , the amount of tortillas along with the small portion of rice and beans doesn’t’ .
I am a chef. I would say it iwas about 3 tablespoons worth of bean and 3 of rice. Enough 2 garnish 3 tacos. And the tortillas were so tiny like street taco size.
But this is where they get you. They upcharge a whopping $6.00 for extra beans and rice and don’t even tell you. I would have no problem paying that if they would have been courteous enough to tell me that it would be additional and how much so I could make the discerning decision . But for that tiny amount definitely not worth the extra $$7.50 adding on to that meal . The waitress Isabel had zero personality. Mind you I am fully bilingual so this isn’t a language barrier issue. The service was slow in getting her attention. Despite what they might reply on this review I have zero reason to lie and go out of my way to make this review and take up my time and energy .
I let her know that I was not happy with the add on charges and what they came out to and i wanted to see a manager . She was rude to me and disrespectful and argumentative ,said she would call the cops on me if I didn’t pay .
How dare you acuse me of yelling when I got the bill . I approached with my complaint And that she never informed my of an upcharge. And she was the one that got nasty. . She never told my son and she never told me of any up-charge . So you can stop right there with her lies. I was the one that asked not my son.
Again you are missing the point. Which is ….. Why offer fajitas for 2 people if the amount of rice and beans is for 3 tacos only and so few little tortillas.
I will tell you why because it is a dishonest way to make a $20 dish into a $27.50 . I could understand if they served and normal amount that with be enough to at minimum give for the amount of tortilla for that dish. In simplest terms the ratio of fajitas vs Rice beans and tortillas is way off! Period. like in every other Mexican restaurant I have been to in my life they serve a normal size dish with half refried bean and rice . After all rice and refried beans is so inexpensive literally cents to a dollar on that side dish and you would prefer to loose customers.
Imagine you order a Hoagie and the lettuce and tomatoes are only in half the sandwich. And then you ask to cover the entire sandwich only to find out afterward you were charge for what should have been in that sandwich all along.
But for something so cheap like refried beans and rice is should have come out on a plate larger portion. Not 3 tablespoons of rice and beans on a small divided ramekin platter. Lol.
The is no way to treat a customer that was dissatisfied rather than to find a solution. . I have never been treated this way ever .
I would not recommend this place first and foremost because it was quite honestly the worse Mexican food I had in a very long time not to mention the service.
The fajitas had a bland boring flavor . The tortillas were chewy, the rice despite it being yellow had zero flavor and the beans were bland. The Queso with chorizo was executed poorly with the liquid cheese rather rather than real melted cheese.
The only reason why we didn’t complain about the food itself because we hadn’t eaten all day and we ate it despite it not being very appetizing.
Which leaves me to make when last point. Typically when I am really hungry food taste even better. Well not I’m this case that is how mediocre it was.

Read moreWhat can a person say after indulging in the quality, comfort, and ambiance at Dos Sabores. As a Mexican food lover, I can say that I have visited a myriad of Mexican restaurants in my lifetime, but I have never felt the need to write a review for any, up until visiting Dos Sabores. Dos Sabores does a lot of things the right way, but above all, they maintain their essence! Their traditional Mexican flavors are a signature in each dish without sacrificing portion sizes, nor distancing themselves from their roots and taste. This humble yet cozy establishment, is a picturesque embodiment of Mexican Culture. The colors and decor throughout showcase the pride and love that the owner and staff feel for their food and roots, which is similarly felt with each single bite that you take from their varied, yet simple to digest menu selection. Their tortilla chips are the best I have ever had in my lifetime: Fried to utter perfection! Presented in a basket while still warm and accompanied by salsa verde and roja. The Choriqueso is a must if coming with a group of friends as the choice of their ingredients are above the rest, and the taste speaks for itself. The quality of what I assume is their longaniza (chorizo), is fresh and grades above what I have ever tried at any other Restaurant. Moreover, the Margaritas glasses are comically, cartoonish in size, as a baby's head can quite literally fit inside some of their larger sizes. But don't let this fool you from the quality and preparation that they take to make sure that your drink is unique to your liking. Lastly, the fajitas are phenomenal and come cooked to your liking as well. If you have a hearty appetite, don't think twice as a single portion can serve two grown men that have been working out in the sun.
The staff are effortlessly humble, respectful, kind, jovial, and have a great sense of humor. Our servers and the bus boys were all exceptional throughout the night and made us feel as if we were family. Our most humble gratitude goes out to Irvin, Emanuel, Federico, Gustavo, Sonia, and the rest of the staff for making each of our experiences at this restaurant unforgettable!
Lastly, our upmost compliments and respect go out to the head chef, Ramiro, who we had the pleasure of meeting, albeit, not in his usual work attire, as he himself was a patron on that day. We appreciated some of his recommendations for the next time we visit; and at the behest of my mother, I might show up wearing a similar hat, haha.
All in all, Dos Sabores is by far my families favorite Mexican restaurant as it truly leaves you full in more...
Read moreDON'T EAT HERE THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY
Its a shame that this happened because the food was fairly good, BUT on my 3rd time eating at Dos Sabores, I was charged more on my credit card than what I signed for. While my dinner and tip was $7.50, $9.50 was charged to my card and reflected on my statement. What made it even worse is that my friend who paid separately with a different card was also overcharged!
After receiving our statements, my friend and I went into the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager. He was mostly nice and receptive. I told him we were charged extra and asked to see the receipts. He explained that he doesn't keep the receipts because there is no office and they are taken home. I told him that was fine but I would be back the next day to see them. When I returned the next day the manager had and showed me my receipt, which confirmed the total was $7.50. He blamed the overcharge on the credit card companies, saying they are the ones who charged me extra. I replied that there is no way that they would have done that. I know from my experience as a server that you have to individually enter each receipt. While the entry should match the receipt, you can enter anything. I told the manager that this couldn't have been an accident because it happened to both me and my friend. Rather than correct the problem, he kept insisting I was wrong and claimed there's no way his waitress could have done that. He then said, "Oh what, its only a dollar, it can't be that big of a deal." I said "It's not about the money! It's about how your server is a liar and a stealer!". Arguing was fruitless, so I contacted my bank to resolve the issue instead.
If you eat there, pay cash. Otherwise, make sure you check your...
