A Hidden Gem with Outstanding Service and Flavorful Food This was either my second or third visit to Fionn MacCool’s Irish Pub & Restaurant, and once again, it delivered on every level. As someone new to the area, I’m always on the lookout for places that are clean, authentic, offer great food, and provide solid service—and this place checks all the boxes.
From the moment I arrived, the service stood out. Shannon, behind the bar, greeted me with a warm, genuine smile that made me feel welcome right away. She was attentive, friendly, and clearly skilled at what she does. I had a few questions about the menu, and she answered each with enthusiasm and helpful detail. I told her I was looking for something on the lighter side and asked about the chicken salad salad. (yes, that what it's called) Rather than just giving a yes-or-no answer, she thoughtfully suggested the Fields of Green Salad instead and offered several protein options like grilled or buffalo chicken. I went with grilled—and I’m so glad I did.
She recommended the creamy onion dressing, and it turned out to be the perfect pairing. My beer arrived quickly, and before I knew it, she was bringing out a beautiful, generous salad that looked just as good as it tasted. The ingredients were fresh, well-balanced, and clearly hand-prepared—not your standard bagged mix. Honestly, it was one of the best salads I’ve had anywhere, hands down.
The atmosphere was lively but comfortable, with a few TVs, happy patrons, and a warm, pub-style charm that makes you want to stay a little longer. Fionn MacCool’s isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a place you want to return to.
If you’re looking for a welcoming spot with phenomenal service, authentic flavors, and an all-around great vibe, this place is a home run. Highly...
Read moreMy parents came up from Central Florida and I was here on a stop over so based on reviews and the menu this place was the winner. I will say they were very close to a 5 star experience. We ordered the giant pretzel for an appetizer (which you can see is pretty massive) along with the sausage balls. Both appetizers were delicious, the pretzel was hot, soft, and chewy. The puff pastry encasing the sausage was delightful and served with a very nice horseradish based dipping sauce. Both of my parents got the shepherds pie (which our server kindly notified us that it takes 25min to prepare) being on a Sunday and no schedule this wasn't a problem. I ordered the beer battered cod with fish and chips. The fish was amazing and clearly was battered in house, it wasn't from a bag whatsoever. The Shepherds pie was very tasty although both of theirs came out luke warm in the center - that was a major disappointment. The pastry that the pie came in was very flaky and good. Just needed to be hot on the inside. Our server although very nice, was just very awkward. She really didn't observe the drink levels in terms of refills, so we continuously had to ask for refills which felt like a bother - again nothing she did in response, but the fact we had to ask multiple times is what made it feel like she either didn't want to get refills or honestly just wasn't paying attention. I would give them another chance in the area and I'm not at all trying to post any discouragement from going. I would go again, the ambience is pretty. Dark and has a nice Irish pub feel. They look like they do have live music on the weekends and clearly with St. Paddy's day coming up, I'm sure many will have a...
Read moreManagement deleted my previous review twice now because they don’t want their restaurant to go into shambles. Here is my review again and I will keep reposting it! MISERABLE experience at this restaurant. Was greeted by the only person there at 2PM in the afternoon, behind the bar. Extremely rude when we asked for a booth and she decided to say “Well, as you can see… We don’t have any booths here sooo.” She could have said this a little more polite. She had absolutely NO customer service skills and she should be fired immediately for her job as a “host” and “bartender” because she’s miserable and hates her job and you can clearly tell. Another couple walked out of the establishment because of her. She was old, blonde, and crotchety and also most definitely entitled. The “atmosphere” is non-existent as it is like a ghost town in there, no one is there and it is like a dark abyss such as the woman’s soul from behind the bar and host stand. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE EVER YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! Never setting foot in this establishment again or giving them my business. Way too overpriced for the so called “customer service” that you DON’T receive when you walk in the door. I repeat… DO NOT GO HERE. This restaurant is VERY poorly run and it was a waste of a 40 minute drive for us… Go to Donovan’s Irish Pub INSTEAD for top notch, five star...
