Francis Cafe — Restaurant in Florida

This review is based merely on my experience buying croquetas , not so much on the food itself. I stopped at this café today on my way to the movies and saw that they had croquetas already made. I asked the lady “they’re ham croquetas, right?” She says “yes”. So I ask for 4, then she tells me they’re 3 for $1 so I end up getting 6. Anyways I get to the car and I’m all excited to eat my croquetas and when I bite into one, I realize it’s a cheese croqueta! Not a ham croqueta like I asked for. To sum it up I was only given 2 ham croquetas and 4 cheese! I could not believe it. The 2 ham croquetas were okay, they were not the best I’ve tried but honestly I can look past that. What bothers me is that I felt taken advantage of. Maybe they didn’t have 6 ham croquetas and wanted to sneakily get rid of the cheese ones . I don’t know why they did that. Small mom and pop Cuban restaurant that we totally enjoyed eating at!! There are only 5 tables so either you call, order and pick up or just swing by and see if you are lucky enough to find a spot to sit in. The food is great, the steak sandwich is HUGE and so well seasoned! Hubby loved it!! I'm a breakfast person so I had their Francis special. Pretty great, not greasy at all so that was a plus. They have fresh food to go, the menu changes daily so it's advisable to call ahead to order dinner on your way home from work!!! 😉 I'm sure your family will enjoy Franci's cooking!! Felt uncomfortable while waiting for their Cuban coffee (love it) after the following 2 assumptions were made: I spoke or understood any Spanish at all. That I wanted to order a breakfast sandwich. Being the only female customer in the place (that's consistently busy) the assumptions made left me with an uncomfortable feeling that will affect how often I indulge in their delicious foods and beverages.
