I made a review earlier, and it must have been deleted. I do not recommend the school for the following (but not limited to) reasons:
It lacks regional accreditation. Why is a regionally accredited school for theological education important? Because of standard and accountability. To put it in a more practical understanding, who would want their surgeon or lawyer going to a school that was not held to the same standard as all other practitioners? Exactly! So why not seminaries?
It is practically useless. The State or federal government does not recognize this degree. I spoke to the chaplain recruiter for my state’s prison, and he informed me that my LCU degree would not be recognized. Degree holders will not be able to get jobs in mainstream seminaries or theological institutions with a degree from LCU.
It lacks theological credibility. The entire narrative of LCU is on the “health and wealth,” and “supernaturalism.” This makes it the laughing stock of other institutions. God does heal, provide, and equip, but not every believers will be finically wealthy, and some will die with health conditions. The leaders of this movement are highly controversial and questionable.
Further, not only is a degree from LCU practically useless in the state and federal side, academia, it is also useless among reputable publishing house. Oh sure, some publisher will accept your money to publish something, but mainstream “traditional” publishers will not—unless you have millions of followers, even then, most will not touch a manuscript from a student of such.
It lacks the ability to equip, instruct, advance, develop ministers. In other words, it lacks scholarship and rigor.
Summary, I am an LCU graduate and now attending a mainstream spirit-filled seminary that is fully accredited and highly ranked, and there are no comparisons between the two. In fact, my now seminary, would not even accept any credit from LCU as “life experiences” or anything of that nature. In short, it was nothing but a wast of time and money. I advise everyone to take their hard earned money and spend it on education that properly...
