“If zero was a option that’s what this would be”- Let’s get started, my family and I after taking a long walk down the Dunnellon bike path decided to stop here for lunch after arriving we were greeted with a 15 minute wait time. No issue at all it’s spring break and most of all it’s Florida there are always wait times, 15 minutes is actually on the low end…..but 15 minutes came and passed and roughly 10 minutes later we were called in just to be told to it was actually gonna be a few minutes(ironically the table were sat at was ready as my wife had gone in to go to the bathroom and had noticed the table already cleaned and ready). Sit there for another 5 minutes and we are told it’s “almost ready” this is now roughly 10 minutes after initially being called in. We finally get sat down few minutes goes by nothing service, few more minutes finally someone comes and asks for our drinks, completely ignoring 1 person in our party. Naturally also waited for an extended period of time for our drinks. In our party of 6 which consisted of 4 adults and 2 children, we ordered 2 kids meals and 4 regular meals that’s consisted of ultimately 4 sandwich’s with varying sides burger sliders and a hot dog. We were let know about halfway through our 45 minute wait for food that they didn’t have the kids hot dog and we could either go with the adult hot dog or a corn dog. We went with the corn dog as the child in question is a picky eater on the best days and things tend to get an ew. Glad we did this as the crazy bill we got would’ve been worse in sure(we will get to that part) As I said earlier it was about 40-45 minutes we waited for our food, and regretfully we waited in what was a loud mess of a establishment. Constant dish clatter to the point I thought they were chucking dishes in the sink.Eventually the pinnacle of our time came and what I got was far from worth it. I ordered a full Cuban sandwich, what I got was a rock with ingredients inside of it. The bread was rock hard on the outside and soggy inside, the flavor was bland at best and had I not been ravenous I probably wouldn’t have chiseled pieces are apart and ate the half I did. By this point we requested the bill and a couple boxes. The bill was just as bad if not worse then the loud, poorly ran restaurant. Kids drinks(which we found they don’t offer (instead send out adult drinks in large to go cups) are charged at the same price as adults drinks and at the price they charge for drinks you’d think it was a bar. Everything is an upcharge and by the time we finished the bill had crested $100. For 2 1/2 Cuban sandwich’s, 1 grilled cheese , 1 corn dog , and 2 small burger sliders. I have spent less in steakhouses for more food and better food. This place is more about robbing you well also not giving you adequate service in the meantime. Very dissatisfied, very much disappointed that this place will continue to swindle people of...
Read moreThe service was OK and the servers very nice. The food was not good, the pie were no as spected. The price was good.
We were doing a road trip and we found this restaurant on internet as one of the best in this small town and we desided to give it a try. One thing we notice was that the restaurant is very popular between locals due to their variaty of pies.
First thing we notice was that the place was cute. We do love country places that look like real country.
The second thing and very disappointing was the food selection. It was little short. it did have several sandwiches and burgers on the menu and about another 3 other dishes. The third and last finding and very interesting for me about this place was that they talked about pies as soon you sit at the table..
The "Cuban sandwich" was meh not good as local are saying in the reviews.
We order our meal !?!?
I had an fried steak that was not great (but it is OK as I am not a big fun of fried country steak). Unfortunately there was nothing else but fried country steak, cat fish and fried Chiken on the menu apart the sandwiches, hamburger and pies. I do not like sandwiches for lunch or dinner I prefer or eat sandwiches just on breakfast or pignics.
My wife asked her sandwich (Cuban sandwich) unfortunately for this cute restaurant we know about sandwiches and we love Cuban sandwiches ( I am Cuban) and we order a "Cuban sandwich" in every single restaurant if it is in the menu. Also, I am sorry for the locals they think this is a great Cuban sandwich when it is not even close to a real Cuban sandwich. Yep it is not not good at all, it was not even a Cuban sandwich. One big tip about Cuban sandwich is that most have roast pork meat on it or it is not a Cuban sandwich.
The meal for the baby (spaghetti) tasted like canned sauce on top of the spaghetti and head it in a microwave. Was really bad. My baby girl did not like it at all and she loves pasta a lot.
Then the pies. First they did not have what I ordered even though was one of the most advertised products on their menu. MY wife pie was a joke (bad really bad) my mother in law order a lime pie and was really good. So was like some pies bad, some good and some they don't even have it.
Conclusion: the service OK, the food not good at all, and the pay selection is high but not everything is a good.
So, because is very popular restaurant between locals,i did not try another restaurant in that town, and thir nice an friendly servers I think it is a 2 start to...
Read moreWE WERE NEVER SEATED! Firstly, I am not one to leave reviews and this is the first negative review I've ever written. I went to the Front Porch for lunch on Saturday, with my husband and three young children. (2 infants and a toddler) We arrived just before a big lunch rush. I gave our name and the hostess directed us to wait outside. We sat in the cold wind and rain (although covered) for a half hour. We watched group after group be served before us. I decided after watching a group of 5 with a baby go right in and sit down, to talk to the hostess. I wanted to make sure there wasn't an error or that she knew we were fine to sit on the porch side of the restaurant. I waited in a short line inside to talk to her. When my turn came she looked at me and took the person behind me. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and waited until she was finished with the other guest. The guest gave their name and party size of 5 to which she responded that it will just be a minute after looking into the dining room and seeing a table open. She then turned and walked away. Again, I waited and she did not return. At this point, I looked at her list of names and found mine circled at the top. All other names above and below mine were crossed off. What the heck?? I turned around and told my husband that we had to go. I felt hurt and stung by this service. I should note that although my children are young they are not ill behaved. I gave them lots of credit for sitting patiently and not running out into the busy parking lot we were sitting next to. Even if this was a miscommunication it felt horrible to be treated this way. I felt we were discriminated against. We were the only family there with small children besides the one baby sat in front of us. We have eaten at the Front Porch once before and had fantastic service. This was completely unexpected and...
