8 months later and I went back to order a soup for my mother today. I had zero expectations from my past experience, so I didn't order anything for myself. There was a younger female this time, customer service was better than the young male they had the last time I went.(It didn't take much).. but the place was still very warm inside, they had the door open. I'm assuming this is why the kids at the counter seem like they don't want to be there from what I've experienced and read. If I had to work the counter or anywhere in there I would feel like I was working in a sweat shop. But she told me 15 minutes for my order, I decided to sit and wait, it ended up taking like 3 minutes. So I was surprised, I didn't want to give them 1 star the first time but I had to, so this time the young female and the quick service made them earn that average of 1 star. I would have given them 2.5 stars today, or even if I gave them 3, the average would still be 1. If ur wanting to order here all I can say is good luck and can't blame the kids for not wanting to be there.
8 months ago from my post today as I can only share 1 post... 0 stars
They had a young male at the counter who had an attitude of not wanting to be there. On top of that the kid tried to rip me off 3 dollars change back. Gave me 6 and kept messing with the change. He's gotten away with it because he kept giving me 1 dollar back at a time until I really had to say something and then he just sat with hos back to me. I'm sure he gets away with more than $50 a day when he gets our elders going in there who assume just cause he's working he's a honest young man. I'm glad I didn't give...
Read moreThis is the best Chinese restaurant in DeLand that we've tried so far...we've been in search of good Chinese cuisine, and with a few exceptions, this place has delicious food and friendly owners/staff. The crab rangoon was the best I've ever had, and the pupu platter items were all fresh and tasty (pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, egg rolls). Hot sour soup was pretty good also. The only disappointment for us, was the chicken curry, which we ordered because my husband is not a fan of vegetables in his dishes. This is the first one we've ever had which had more veg than meat, and over half of it was bulked out with brocolli. After separating them, the spice and flavor of the curry itself was very nice. The Chinese vegetables were a good complement and a reasonable quantity for the portion. The brocolli, however, should not have been the primary ingredient. As this is a personal preference, we still give them 4 stars. We'll ask them to leave out the brocolli next time. So if you're like my husband, and you're not a fan of broccoli, order something else or just ask them to skip the brocolli. Looking forward to our next visit! (BTW, the website listed is not theirs! The link in Google listing takes you to the Grand...
