I actually enjoyed this place and recommend it all the time. I brought my cousin and his family during their visit. It was a very busy day and it is understandable that it can take time to get someone's order and tend to them. We were a party of 10 and making a reservation helped get in quickly. All was good. The waiter took about 10 minutes to get to us. When he got to us we were ready to order and he seemed surprised/not ready. He asked my wife a few times after she told him she's ready to order everything. He seemed to only want to get our drinks. We ordered and the food came out. It was good. We placed 2 orders of the guacamole. My wife ordered everything on it and my cousin ordered everything on it with Jalapenos on the side. We got both guacs and they were identical. When we asked about the Jalapenos the waiter seemed confused. We told him about the Jalapenos on the side so he brought Jalapenos. We then asked again if the guacamole had Jalapenos he said yes. My wife tasted here and it didn't. No biggie. She added the ones he brought. Overall. It was not bad. My son waited about 20 minutes for a refill.
Here is the worst part. I was okay with how things went on a busy night. The waiter actually came out and confronted me about his service. At first I thought it was a random survey type thing. It was not. He was upset about the tip I left him. Obviously my cousin tipped him better since we split the check. I'm used to better service and have been here many times when its crowded.
I have never been confronted about a tip. That is very unprofessional. The worst part is that after we discussed it, I told him about the service he provided, as he was walking back he mumbled something under his breath. Luckily, I did not want to cause a scene while my cousin came to visit.
This is probably the only Mexican restaurant I like around here and I may never go back. I have brought my in laws, brother, dad, cousin to this place and they have all enjoyed the food. I'm disappointed at the waiters decision to confront me...
Read moreYikes, $45 for a child's nacho, one tostada, guacamole and 2 sodas. First visit here which I shared with the waiter who at first impression was perhaps not feeling well. I'll start by saying this is NOT authentic. My family's recipes come direct from Jalisco, MX, Meson de los Sauces, by which I visit very often except during big covid. I am more than educated especially in the palate. I will say, it's hard sometimes to convert American ingredients to taste Authentic. I can only think the great reviews are from friends, family or folks who like taco bell. Fancy plating does not equal good food. The famous guacamole was thin, and far too much tomato with a pungent sour flavor. Likely too much lime in order to avoid browning or sour tomatoes or left overs from yesterday. This overtook the avocado flavor and lack of spices caused me to to reach for salt and pepper. The child nacho was extremely taco bell. Melted white cheese over bagged chips with a few miniscule jalapeños. The fish tostada was set on a street sized shell. A load of sour cream to give the appearance of a larger item. The waiter although adequate did not suggest any specials, just here's your menus. I think he tried, perhaps new. The setting was clean although being the only 2 customers the music was far to loud. I took the leftovers as our neighborhood has many strays that need food. No, it did not meet my expectations, reach for the spices. Although my review will not shut their doors, I would hope not, but for those who want and know authentic...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a really fun time dining at this restaurant with a large group, and even though the place was busy, the staff did a fantastic job taking care of us. The service was attentive and respectful, and the energy was warm and welcoming.
The menu was impressively large, with something for everyone. It was filled with truly delicious and authentic Mexican food that brought me right back to my time living in border towns. Every bite reminded me of those genuine flavors I have missed.
I ordered the Chile Relleno, and it was absolutely perfect. I am very selective about this dish because I do not like when it is covered in heavy egg batter, but they nailed it. The chile was cooked just right, the cheese was gooey and flavorful, and you could tell they use fresh and high quality ingredients.
One thing I really appreciated was when the waiter let one of our guests know that their dish would take a little longer to prepare. That kind of honesty and attention to detail shows real respect for the guest experience. The fact that they brought out the rest of the food while it was still hot was a big plus.
If you are looking for authentic flavor, thoughtful service, and a great atmosphere, I highly...
