Nestled within the vibrant tapestry of Miami, Hidalgos Cafe-Restaurant beckons with the promise of a gastronomic voyage that marries flavors, atmosphere, and a level of service that feels like a warm embrace. With an unmistakable charm, delectable offerings, and an ambiance that transports you to the heart of Mexico, this establishment is a true testament to the art of dining.

During my recent sojourn to Hidalgos, I embarked on a culinary adventure that led me to the captivating "Huevos a la Mexicana." A dish that encapsulates the very essence of Mexican cuisine, the Huevos a la Mexicana showcased a symphony of flavors – perfectly scrambled eggs adorned with vibrant tomatoes, onions, and a hint of jalapeño, a medley that danced harmoniously on the palate.

However, the journey of an exceptional dining experience doesn't culminate with the cuisine alone. Our visit was graced by the impeccable service of our waitress, Sofia. Her warm demeanor and extensive menu knowledge transformed our meal into an experience that was both delightful and memorable. Sofia's attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm added an extra layer of magic, ensuring that our time at Hidalgos was nothing short of extraordinary.

The ambiance at Hidalgos is a seamless blend of coziness and vibrancy, inviting you into a world where every corner tells a story. Soft lighting casts a warm glow, creating an atmosphere that's equally suitable for a leisurely brunch or a convivial evening with friends. The restaurant's charming decor resonates with the spirit of Mexico, evoking a sense of nostalgia and authenticity.

Hidalgos Cafe-Restaurant's dedication to authenticity is apparent in every dish. Their commitment to using the finest ingredients and recipes handed down through generations is evident in every bite. The "Huevos a la Mexicana" is just a glimpse into their pursuit of creating culinary moments that transport you to the heart of Mexico.

Hidalgos Cafe-Restaurant captures the vibrant spirit of Miami while offering an experience that transports you to the flavors of Mexico. A visit here is not just a meal; it's an exploration of culture, a journey through tastes and textures. As you savor the distinct flavors, make sure to cross paths with Sofia – her impeccable service embodies the very soul of Hidalgos, where each guest is embraced like an old friend.

In a city teeming with dining options, Hidalgos Cafe-Restaurant stands as an oasis of authenticity, flavor, and genuine care. The memories of their tantalizing "Huevos a la Mexicana" and Sofia's exceptional service will linger long after your visit, a reminder that Hidalgos is more than a mere restaurant – it's a conduit to the rich tapestry of Mexican culinary heritage and...

The first time I dined in, service was great & food was great. I decided to come back with family and the service wasn’t as good. Unfortunately, the server had a preference for the table ordering plenty of drinks and food, forgot we were also paying customers. We ordered chips with pico de gallo and guacamole that alone was around $12, Drinks were about $3 each, my husband ordered the 3 chicken quesadillas, rice and beans combo and paid $11. My mother ordered the Menudo soup with tortillas and 3 tacos paid $14. I ordered 4 cheese quesadillas (mind you same size, less ingredients) and paid $16! For QUESADILLAS. This place charged me $5 extra for my 4th quesadilla? Everyone at my table ate MORE and paid LESS??

Once I brought up the issue to my server, letting her know “my husband literally ordered the same food that I did and paid way less for his meal” she didn’t even bother to be more sympathetic? Or try to help us understand or fix the obvious issue.

Being the small corner restaurant here in homestead, it’s not a good look for a restaurant to RIP OFF their customers. I don’t mind paying for GOOD food but I do not like being RIPPED OFF... $5 extra for a fourth quesadilla......

After looking for a good Mexican place to eat here in Homestead, I came across this place. Initially, when we first got there, the location of the restaurant was already shady and wasn’t in the best area. However, we decided to eat here anyway. We had an Horchata and complementary chips and salsa. The Horchata was delicious and the chips and salsa were very fresh, but a small proportion. We had high hopes for this place at this point. Once we got our food, we were very disappointed. It took a while for us to get our food and it was slow. The food, sadly to say, was not very good. I ordered las enchiladas rojas con pollo. They were not good at all. The plate entirely was missing something. The flavor just wasn’t there. When I opened the small tortilla, it had ONE strip of chicken inside all 3 enchiladas. The rice was bland the beans were missing salt. My friend ordered a chorizo and steak quesadilla. The steak quesadilla also had no flavor and barely had any steak inside. He said the chorizo was ok. Our server was sweet and we still left a good tip. The only positives about this place were the server, Horchata, and the chips. Everything else was a let down and I will not come back...

The restaurant is clean enough. I ordered a cafe con leche which was very good. Pretty similar to what you would get in Mexico it brought good memories! The gorditas con frijoles y queso were too thick for my liking and had very little filling so the masa overpowered the other flavors. In Mexico gorditas are usually smaller and are very well packed with the filling and the masa (dough) is soft, this masa was a bit too hard for my taste. The chilaquiles were good. The salsa was medium spicy and had good taste. Nothing extraordinary but also not bad. The tacos were not good at all. The meat was greasy and tasted old, we didn’t eat them. However, the side of beans was really good. They have a salsa bar and I had their red salsa which was full of flavor and very spicy which I look forward at a Mexican place. Overall this place is ok but would not be my first option if visiting the area. They had a sign at the door they are looking for a cook so that is perhaps what happened because I saw so many good reviews about the place but unfortunately it wasn’t my experience. The waitress was really nice and the food came out quickly.

Great food. Affordable prices. Each taco was under $3. My favorite was the chicken taco and the quesadilla was delicious too. The employees were friendly. Would definitely go back. Updated 2023: I usually don't go back to update any reviews, and I have given this place so many chances, but the food is not good at all anymore. I just threw away two steak tacos (I ordered 3) because of how nasty they tasted. I've ordered twice this year, and both times, the food is not good, taste bland, dry. I'm very disappointed. It used to be a great taco spot before covid. And the food is twice as expensive now. So more expensive, less quality.

Walking into Hidalgo’s felt like I got transported straight to Mexico 🇲🇽 the colors, the vibe, the music, everything felt authentic. The food? Incredible. From the tacos to the cheesy queso fundido, every bite was packed with flavor. The horchata was smooth and refreshing too. What really stood out was the service super friendly, fast, and they made us feel right at home. Definitely coming back. If you’re looking for a real Mexican spot in Miami, this is it.
