Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Florida

I hated the service on friday I got the wrong order, I called the mananger who told me that they would give me the correct order free. I explained to the manager that I would not be able to come back until sunday, he told that was fine and that since he wouldn't be working that day he would put my order information under my phone number. Sunday, I called to explain what had happened and that the manager had put all the information under my phone number, well they gave me a HARD! time, I asked them to check under my phone number and they would not., I even gave the manangers name , well eventually after going back and forth with them they decided to make my baked meatball sub. When we got home my fiance ate his and got sick throwing up, severe headache, stomach bothering him badly. Monday when he got up to go to work he was still sick throwing up, so his job sent him home. I took a bite of my baked meatball sub and immediately ran to the bathroom to throw up. Guess what? I opened my sub and saw what appeared to be a huge glob of spit. I saved the sub and monday called the manager that I originally talked with. He was not in yet so I left my phone number for him to call me back. I waited, and waited by this time 3 hours had passed so I called him and he instantly had a very nasty attitude, he was rude, disrespectful, and act as if he didnt care . I told him I still habe the sub and hr didnt want to see it, because I wanted to show him how nasty the meatball sub looked inside. I then asked for corporate phone number would you believe he says he didn't know it. To me thats very odd I would think all managers would have corporate number just in case something happens where they really need to speak with them. Mind you I have been eating at that particular Hungry Howie's for a long time and I ALWAYS order the baked meatball sub. I am writing this to warn anyone who choose to order from them to please, please check your food. This is just as bad as when Dimino's pizza employees put nasty stuff from their nose on the pizza. Who would ever think that a person would be that nasty to spit in your food. This is a warning and not I am sending it to be tested for possible chemicals, or DNA from the person who spit in my food. I habe gotten an attorney because I want the sub tested. What I really want is for them to fire the mananger and emoyee whp spit in my food. I will never eat there again ,even if they were the last pizza palor in business. I am calling corporate today to let them know what happened and that I have a lawyer who is testing the leftover baked sub. Tuesday we both went to the doctor to have blood work and urine test to see if anu drugs or chemicals were put in the food. All I wanted was for them to do the right thing. Check the complaints about Hungry Howie. I didnt give the rating any stars because they don't deserve it. I feel that if they are goung to be unsanitary then that particular Hungry Howie's need to close there doors. Please just check your food if you continue to eat at that location. My name is jeanne backer and I was an employee of this store from may 2 to Oct 4 , 2023. The new owner , RAY just showed up one day . wasn't ever told any anything about it. Ib was never told that the store was sold. He didn't like the way we were trained and started changing everything down to the portions of food. Our salads were pretty popular before he decided that the salads weighed to much ! I wouldn't pay $10 for a salad that has barely anything on it. We also were told to not change out the food as often . like the salami and ham, and turkey and all the other things we would put on some of your salads . I was not comfortable in serving food that I know could be possibly going bad , if not bad already. I watched him put pans away, unwashed on the table , to be used for the next day. They still had all the cooked chicken stuck to them. When I went to get them to clean them , I was yelled at to put them back , that he was not spending all night there cleaning. People can get very sick like that , and there was already a problem with and infestation of roaches . leaving pans with food in them just makes the problem bigger. I definitely think a health inspector needs to go inspect that store. What a coincidence that right after he yelled at me about the dirty pans that he did not want me to wash , he fired me .no reason , just told me that he didn't think things would work out. The 2 days that I worked around him , he did nothing buy yell and curse at us . he's extremely cheap and thats why the food will never be really any good anymore. he started doing all the deliveries just so he could take the tips. He would then take money from our tip cup daily. when he wasn't even doing that job. He still refuses to give me my last paycheck that he owes me If I call to ask for it he hangs up on me. I ordered at 8.20pm today.i called at 9.50 pm because I have not received my delivery and when I call they said they don't see me on the screen and the delivery driver already left so now it's almost 10:00 p.m. and everything is closed and now me and my kids are hungry and we have no food and I did not receive a phone call or nothing. I got charged for it and then when I told the person that is unacceptable that I did not receive a phone call and I would like my money back She said it will take 24 to 48 hours and I asked her so do you have my name and she says yes I see it in the system I said oh the same system that you don't see my name on the screen that I have an order for huh and she had nothing to say.also she said the manager is not there.no manager and no delivery driver before the business closed?
