This is a joint joint review for Jimmy Jo's BBQ and the Beer Shed next door. The two place have a symbiotic relationship and share a big outdoor patio overlooking the Alafia River. Jimmy Jo's is a wood cabin serving excellent take out barbecue on one side of the patio and the Beer Shed is a bar on the other side of the patio serving drinks. (A guitarist/singer and drummer combo were playing rock favorites while we were there on Sunday afternoon) We ate brisket, sausage, excellent BBQ beans, coleslaw and fries served with barbecue sauce on the side. Paper plates, napkins and plasticware provided for use on the patio. We then bought two draft beers and a bottle of water from the Beer Shed and sat at a table on the patio so we could watch the boats on the river. A beautiful sunny day, a great view and good food and drink, what more could we want. Our meal was complete. $26.10 per person includes tax and tip....
Read moreFood- great pulled pork sandwich at a reasonable price I think it was $9 for a sandwich comes with a side of crinkle-cut fries that are seasoned perfectly. The only drinks they have our sweet tea and unsweet tea just the way it should be. That is freshly brewed some tea made to order.
Service- great service not much to it but it's fast and friendly
Atmosphere- the atmosphere this place is out of the park. It's it's right on the river has great views of the water and Florida Forest. Kind of weird to get here because it's on the backside of a trailer park and is definitely kind of a locals-only know about this place.
Overall definitely recommend this place if you're craving barbecue a burger or whatever else the locals love it and it's a quiet little part of town with no loud music no crowds and...
Read moreI was going to get half rack of ribs, I discussed and opted to size up to full rack. SO glad I did. It was delicious. Best, most tender rack or ribs that Ive had in years. Smoke was perfect. Tender and falling off the bone. I chose to try both sweet sauce and the spicy sauce and combined they were perfect for me. Either alone would have been good too. I chose to try the corn fritters. Perfect fry on them and the cinnamon and brown sugar butter dip was really good with the fritters.
My husband had the fried grouper sandwich and he said the fry on that was perfect too. The only note is we’d ask for crispy for the French Fries next time.
This place is on the Alafia and the beer shed is right next door. Really relaxing meal on the water. Nothing fancy at all, shorts and flips casual with...
