The atmosphere is never friendly. I don’t care as long as the food is good. I would come here x2-3 a week I was a loyal customer. (Only nice person was the mulata in the front) anywho out of all the times I come here, this is the second time I had to return food due to raw tostones (not crunchy at all soft and had to eat like jerky) i didn’t return anything else i ordered simply the side dish I asked to be remade, they gave me attitude and a stank face and had me wait 35 minutes for a new order of tostones by than my other food is cold. They brought out the new batch while it’s hot also soft meaning the oil is too hot so only the outside is cooking but the inside remains raw. So I asked for my money back politely (only for the tonstones. I kept my other food even though they had me waiting 40 minutes) and at first they refused bc I quote “it’s not fair” after ten minutes debating I got my money back. Whole time the people in the back were giving me dirty looks, I heard them make slick remarks and laugh. The same people that always gives dirty looks and never greets with a smile unless you’re a personal friend or Colombian. Store is always empty regardless and I see why.

Read moreThis place should be called ‘we don’t have that’. My wife wanted Colombian food and while picking we were told over and over that ‘we don’t have that’. After settling on a dish, it was served without avocados even though the picture had some and every other place I’ve had the same meal includes it. Secondly, they said they didn’t have any chimmichuri even though when I went to pay there was a giant liter glass filled nearby the register so I was lied to. Third, when serving my food, they didn’t bring me the correct dish so my wife and son had to eat while I waited and then they had to wait while I ate when my dish finally arrived. If that was not enough, when the dish did arrive they didn’t bring all my sides that I ordered and came with my dish. The waiter tried to act like I didn’t say it even though my wife and son clearly heard me and the other waiter even repeated the order once it was place but upon reviewing the hand written bill before paying, he never wrote it down. It was almost comical how bad the service was and to top it off, my wife, whose decision it was to go there didn’t even eat her meal because the steak was pink and undercooked. A complete joke and wouldn’t go near this place again if it were free which by the way was...
Read moreA friend and I were curious to see if there was any Colombian restaurant in the homestead area and we googled Colombian restaurants near me and were brought to La Parilla Latina. My friend ordered a chicken soup (not sancocho de gallina, they had that as well but she wanted regular chicken soup) and an empanada, I ordered a 16oz sancocho de costilla and a bandeja paisa. We didn't have to wait long which was nice since we were hungry, but it did seem like my dish was thrown together pretty quickly. I enjoyed the food, the bandeja comes with carne asada which had a sweet flavoring to it, and not the carne en polvo which traditionally is part of the dish. It was moderately priced and the service was friendly in a home like manner, as if we were in someone's home and happen to pop in for lunch. The restaurant was warm but not unreasonable so for others who reviewed and complained about the AC, it IS TOLERABLE! they have an assortment of typical Colombian staples as picos, chocolatinas Jet and other candies and pastries. My friend and I enjoyed the food and we would definitely come back if we are...
