Love this place! New residents to the area & having grown up in Los Angeles, it's been slim pickings in terms of good, truly authentic Mexican/Latin food from "back home." We had resigned that we probably would never find that gem bc Florida is not SoCal after all. However, we finally found it here at La Sabrosa!
After speaking with one of the employees there, they are from East Los Angeles which explains why the food is SO GOOD here. It's a casual eatery located inside a small grocery store. We ordered queso & chicharron papusas, beef empanadas, nachos, & carne asada burrito that you can hold. Took home some concha bread too. Looking forward to trying out more dishes when we return.

Read moreThis place is similar to their other location in Orange Park. The made-to-order food is amazing, and they've got a buffet option if that's more your thing. Service is kind, but they seem to be a little short-staffed leading to longer than expected times between ordering food and receiving it. I think the young employee was running the store, taking orders, and cooking too.

They come standard, (onions & cilantro), and your choice of meat. The meat is seasoned well, I only wish there was more. If you get asada, see if you can add on extra meat. You won't be disappointed.
