Lou's Tavern — Restaurant in Florida

My wife, a few friends, and I visited Lou’s Tavern for the first time on September 13, 2025 at 6 PM after hearing some great recommendations — and it did not disappoint! Tucked away just south of Racetrack Road, this spot truly feels like a hidden gem in Fort Walton Beach.

The food was absolutely top-notch. I ordered the Sweet Red Chili Wings while my wife had the mild ones — both came out piping hot, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. One of my friends went with the Pork Grilled Cheese Sandwich and WOW… that thing is a game-changer. I already know what I’m getting next time!

Beyond the food, the atmosphere is exactly what you want in a local tavern: karaoke, pool tables, darts, plenty of TVs, and just a fun, laid-back vibe. The owner, Lou, made the experience even better. sHe personally served us with an upbeat, positive attitude that made us feel like regulars on our very first visit.

This is 100% a must-try if you live locally and have never stopped by, and it’s also a great way to support a small business owner who clearly pours his heart into the place. Thank you, Lou — we’ll definitely be back...

Had an event at Mattie Kelly Arts Center on a Saturday and had to drop off a family member over in Firt Walton Beach afterward…. Felt like something new and came across Lou’s Tavern on a Saturday around noon…. Decided to check it out…. Of course it was really slow at that time of day with only 2 patrons at the bar area…. My daughter and I sat at a table and ended up ordering the $7 grilled cheese kids meal that included a large portion of tater tots and drink, and I ordered the Patty Melt, with “frito style” fries for $11…. INSANELY good patty melt, high quality meat that doesn’t take like any other restaurant in the area and even the fries tasted fresh and hand cut, with a flavor I’ve NEVER had for fries…the grilled cheese was so big my daughter couldn’t finish it (which she always does), and my Patty Melt was the BEST one I’ve ever had….. looking for something new and a local business you’ve got to checkout...

Lou's has become one of my new favorite places! It's clean, roomy, they have a very friendly staff and nice local patrons. I enjoy getting into conversations with everyone there and finally feel like the locals have somewhere to call their own!

Lou's food is fantastic and they have a nice variety. I just had the best, huge hot pepper cheeseburger there- it even beat my usual favorite burger place! The lemon pepper chicken wings are great too but I wish they'd get more flavors of dry rub! (That's the only complaint I have which really isn't a complaint, just a wish).

I'm really impressed that I could get a caffeine free diet alternative beverage at Lou's. No other place does that-but Lou's does!

Lou's Tavern is way above any other casual dining/drinking spot in the area! This would be a great lunch stop for workers on the go. Give Lou's a try I'm pretty sure you'll love it there!
