I have “chewed on this” for a few days now. I will be honest and say we have went through lots of tough times with mama mias. I am super quick to call and place of business that puts forth a effort to ensure a good experience (to compliment). I try not to complain as grace should always be first, try to give the benefit of doubt. Plus our current situation with Covid. Also try to support a local small business before a chain ANYDAY.
Again our family has seen the ups and downs of this particular small business. However this takes the cake. Please know I chewed on it as I don’t try to be fast to post negative. However, I still feel as this is the worst experience thus far. So easy peezy order 2 dinner meals. (One speg/meatball and lasagna. ) both come with salad and order of bread bites, plus another bread bites. I am feeding two teens and the meals are good portions. So especially (not that this part is anyone’s problem) I just requested the salads be Caesar salads. Boys get their entree and their garlic bread bites. Salads are mine for dinner with my own garlic bites. Well it arrived about a hour and 45 minutes later. I was told a hour when I ordered. No call. No heads up. Had to call 5 times before it was even sent out the door. (Called 5times because she kept hanging up on me like pick up hang up). We live fairly close so maybe 10mins Max. She told us headed out the door and still waited a extra 35+ Minutes before it arrived) When I called and was hung up on a few times. When she finally answered “sorry we are closed”. I requested the manager and she offered the owner. I then sat on hold for maybe a good 10 minutes. He comes on the line and I said I know what to expect as I ordered (26.00 of lunch for myself the day prior but the garlic bites are hard as a rock including my extra order for myself to have woth my salad, salads are lettuce and croutons, no cheese no DRESSING, (which makes the whole salad and I LOVE their dressing. ) So yes the kids ate, I tried to put something I had in the fridge on my “salad” but wasn’t what I wanted not paid for( for this meal). I will be honest and he wasn’t rude but gave a bunch of reasons/ excuses as to why this happened. I said early on I didn’t want free food but if he wanted true feed back here it is. He didn’t seem concerned but more stressed. I get it. Covid did screw a lot of small businesses. But let’s be honest. Read moreIn January I moved from Palm Harbor to Hudson. Asked a good friend of mine who lives in hudson where to get good pizza/stromboli in this area. He instantly said Mamma Mia. My mother and I have eaten here 5 or 6 times since. Food has always been very very good. I get a stromboli with pepperoni and ham which is made perfectly. We usually get a pizza to but today mom wanted an Italian cold sub with some wings. I always pick up on my way home from work. Being a Friday at 6 p.m. when we ordered I expected a wait . We were told 45 min. No big deal. But my disappointment came when my stromboli and wings were ready in about 40 min but Italian ( cold sub) took another 20 minutes to complete . As I stood at the counter the young lady working was terrific. She asked which order was mine then went and checked on it . I could see the hot food right there as could she . She then went to the kitchen to let the lady that was preparing subs know I was still waiting on mine. 10 min later when I was still waiting she checked again. Then about 8 min later . As I was watching the lady who ended up making my sub talking to other employees and checking her phone I was a little disappointed. In the end it took exactly 1 hour before I had my complete order . Had it been the hot food I would understand but to wait that extra 20 min for a cold Italian to be made. .... I know it was busy but come on now. Credit to the nice blonde hair young lady at the counter for keeping me in the loop. And I even saw her whisper to another employee, when they asked me what I was waiting on , she whispered I tried asking the women in the kitchen 3 times to complete the order. I will definitely continue to eat here . Its excellent food. But I wanted to at least make management aware that they had one employee that really let me down and another who went above and beyond to help...
Read moreI just heard last week that this place was great, so we decided to try it tonight. I ordered an18" pizza and a Sicilian style and 2 orders of knots.
First of all, the driver shows up with a credit slip that's 4.00 more than I authorized online. I say something about it, and he starts talking about how far it is to deliver here. Not my problem. It's literally fraud to charge more than authorized. If you want to charge more, update your website. Period. The website does NOT say that this is a thing I wouldn't have ordered if it did. I could have had better pizza for a lot less money!
Now on to the pizza and NOTS (not Knots--trust me). The pizza is bland at best. Downright awful if we're being honest. The Sicilian is thick, airy bread (not crust) with minimal amounts of flavorless sauce and some cheese. Ours happened to be all over the box as though it had been tipped on the way. The regular crust was almost as bad, and the amount of cheese was lackluster. The NOTS were literally just little pieces of unchewable rolled out pizza crust with a small bit of butter (that did NOT help them to be more chewable, BTW). Typically a garlic knot is literally a knotted piece of crust. Not so much here. Just flat, hard unpalatable, inedible pieces of crust.
Wish I could leave zero stars. We won't try again. Save yourselves the hassle, and don't bother!!
*you "explained" it, but NOWHERE does it say on your website that there may be an added fee. I went back and scoured the website. Here's an idea: if you don't want to deliver your cold pizza to our neighborhood that is 12 minutes away, then don't offer delivery here!
