They didn't know how to make a Margarita Pizza even though the ingredients were right on their menu. At least 5 of their employees argued with me that I didn't know what I was talking about. I showed each of them their menu but the teens behind the counter were still rude. Finally the manager agreed to make a new pizza. He brought it out personally and with the translation services of one of the most belligerent teens, apologized for the attitude of the staff and gave me the ruined pizza at no charge. I've lowered my rating from three stars to one star because the owner just responded to this review and suggested that I pretended to be disappointed so I could manipulate them into giving me a free pizza! His snide remark (which you can read for yourself in his review) was - "Maybe you just wanted a free pizza.". Then to make it even worse - he thanks me for giving him business. What kind of business owner snaps back at a customer and accuses him of being a con artist ripping him for a free pizza? I've been going to the original Napoli on the Bay @ Crayton Cove for 23 years and to the East Naples location since it opened. I took my kids there to celebrate their birthdays every year. We'd put candles on the pizza pie, and follow it up with ice cream from their shop and stroll on the Naples City Docks. Napoli by the Bay was part of our family tradition. The original founder knew us and we felt like a part of the Napoli on the Bay family. I raved about his establishment and referred dozens of customers to his modest pizza shop year after year. I never had a problem. In fact, I'm sure he'd roll over in his grave if he knew what kind of inexperienced, hostile employees were being hired or if he knew how the new owner was publicly accusing loyal customers of deceit and insisting that pizza sauce belongs on Margarita pizza instead of tomatoes, even though it is spelled out clearly in their menu and by various 3rd party sources. Margarita Pizza is my wife's preference, and Napoli by the Bay is her favorite source. I didn't want to disappoint her and we had guests waiting at our house while I went to pick up the order and deal with this incident. Does wanting to please my wife and receive what I paid for make me a con man who manipulates teenagers to get fee pizza? I don't need to businesses to give me anything for free but I do expect to be given what I ordered + paid for and I do expect to be treated with courtesy & respect. Before this incident, they made the best Margarita Pizza in Naples and they treated their customers fairly and respectfully. I don't know what's going on behind the scenes now but I do hope they get their act...
Read moreOk....initially I order from Doordash for all of the restaurants around my area ( Considering I'm a front desk agent at a major hotel) I never try and write a bad review unless it's really something that's an ongoing issue...well 3 times I've ordered from this Restaurant (unknowingly until it arrived with a Napoli sticker on it) My first order was a Pizza and Garlic knots, the pizza itself was decent, there were burnt parts but that was easily taken off, then I opened up the Garlic knots to find Croissant style rolls with a thin line of Garlic paste spread across the center of the rolls, the parmesan; which was suppose to be placed on top of the knots was on the bottom of the pan...I had to scrape off melted parmesan in order for them to taste any better so I decided not to order from them again because of 1. the garlic knots and 2. the semi- burnt pizza well then I order from Freakin' good pizza...again decent pizza and the same garlic knots with a lovely sticker on the packaging that was labeled Napoli....this time around I asked doordash for a refund because this is the second time I was unsatisfied with my order from the SAME company.....well yesterday I ordered from Brooklyn Calzones and not only was the Calzone burnt on the bottom and sides it was undercooked in the center...which in any foodservice restaurant you would come to the conclusion of the over being too high of a temperature, then the wings I ordered were gooey (like they were baked and not fried) also my 12 wings were not 12 wings I got 10 which was not that much of a concern but the gooey wings were then of course the garlic knots.....yet again a thin line of garlic paste and everything baked on the bottom with a Napoli sticker on the bags it came in....and yet again I asked for a full refund from Doordash. Needless to say this "chain" has been taken off of my recommendations for local restaurants for my guests and I do inform them of my experiences so they...
Read moreI'm updating my review on Napoli on the Bay III. I WISH I had taken a picture of the perfect pie that was delivered hot and crispy, cooked to perfection. I ordered online and the process- through slice was so easy. Everyone has their favorite pizza and originally coming from the Southshore of Massachusetts(Cape Cod) we have our own tasty biscuits crust; unique to that area.
Napoli has its own delicious sauce and cheese mixtures and you will rarely find a pie with a bubble! The pizza is delivered and never disappoints with its taste or temperature. This is our favorite go to, even exceeding Palumbo's and New York Pizza and Pasta. Give it a try you won't be disappointed! For those of you who rated them 1 star during the height of season and coming off of the most difficult employment situation this country may have ever experienced- it might be nice to give them another try. Florida is not like your home state. People are flocking here permanently and the pendulum for employees will eventually catch up.
Napoli on the Bay has an incredible blend of ingredients that makes their pizza particularly delicious. Delivery is quick, and the pizza...
