Our fight departure gave us an extra 45 minutes to enjoy lunch at PBI that day. We headed straight to Nick’s Tomato Pie. It has become such a part of our PBI flight routine when we travel. We are always so happy to get a seat at the bar and enjoy lively conversation with the bartenders. They are always so polite and helpful. Over the years we have watched a few of our favorites leave and quickly made new favorites with the other staff. The pizza is fantastic. I happen to just really like it. My wife is a New Yorker and considers herself a NY pizza expert. Nick’s is at the too of her chart for the best, out of state, NY pizza.
I think we can all appreciate that a dining experience is good when the food is good. That dining experience becomes great when the staff and servers contribute to the enjoyment. So many people are quick to complain and painfully slow to compliment. Some believe that tips show appreciation, but that is not always recognized by management/ownership.
Our many experiences at Nick’s have been made great by many members of the team. I just feel compelled to mention one very special member of that team in this particular review. She remembers our names, what we eat and what we drink. Imagine doing that anywhere, yet alone an international airport. I am not sure I am supposed to write someone’s name in a review, but the her name is Mimi.
The food and especially the service at Nick’s make it a must when you are at PBI in Terminal C and are craving a great meal. If you have anything less than a great time, let them know while you are there and they will go out of their way to make you happy! Travel through airports is stressful, pizza...
Read moreWorst service ever!!!! Rudest employees there have ever been!!! Ignored me standing by the bar, I just wanted to ask if it was table service or order at the bar. Finally the bartender turned to me, Said it was table service. The young man waiting tables walked by me three times while I asked politely, never once turned his head to me or spoke. Even after this I took a menu and waited at the table. Half hour later the young man goes to a table next to us. I said “excuse me sir, but we’ve been waiting on this young man for over a half hour would you mind if he took our order first”. The kid said to the man “they’re sitting in Burger Kings Table.” But what was funny, the table sat right next to Nicks Door and before the sign “Nicks Tomatoe Pies”! Not to mention, the table we sat at had a Nicks menu and was full of glasses and beer bottles. And the group of men that came up next sat outside next to us and were waited on! Lastly we ended up being happy we weren’t served. Every Pizza came out burnt! The gentleman that managed to be served before us, told the kid “forget it, its burnt, I don’t want it” and left!!! Burger kings employees were nothing but polite even considering the line went down the terminal quite a ways. Nick you need to replace your employees, working for the pubic is difficult. If you can’t handle the customers politely , you’re in the wrong business. I didn’t see many tips being left! If I could leave negative stars there would definitely be...
Read moreI was on the phone when I sat down at the bar to order a pizza. I was asked by Lenore, the bartender, how old I was to which I responded “I am of age, would you like to see my id”. She said no and she asked me to take my conversation elsewhere. This is a public place, remember that. I looked over at the gentleman next to me and I asked if I was going to bother him (he was a good 3 seats down the bar from me) and let him know I’ll be done in thirty seconds. He rudely told me I was bothering him because I am too loud. When I’m on the phone it is hard for me to speak softly because I cannot hear myself due to the fact that a brain tumor surgery I had in 2016 caused deafness in my left ear. When the bartender, Lenore, told me to find somewhere else to eat, I gladly left and sat elsewhere. HMSHost is the managing company of all the restaurants and bars in the Palm Beach airport. I will be writing to them directly and will be posting more on social media about the horrible experience I had. Never have I been refused service anywhere, nor have I ever been chastised for my physical shortcomings to disabilities. This is the first time and hopefully the last. I wasn’t as shocked with the customer not being pleasant, but the bartender is supposed to be a friendly face, not somebody who refuses service to somebody who has a physical handicap. HMSHost should...
