Yes, the pizza is good. But...the first time I was there, for takeout, I ordered and picked up my two pizza's. It wasn't until later that I realized they charged me for three pizzas. But that's on me.

The 3rd or 4th and LAST time that I was there for takout, they were not busy and my pizza was the only one waiting to be picked up. The young man working the counter took it down from off the top of the oven, I saw my name on the ticket, and he went to ring up my purchase. I opened the box is it was NOT what I had ordered. Apparently, they gave my pizza to someone else (who came in just before me). So there were two disappointed customers that night.

Well, another man was in the area, whom I assume to be the owner, and you could tell he was frustrated. After about a minute of pacing back and forth he simply said, "it'll be 30 minutes." Well, that wasn't going to work for me because I had other hot food in my car already and my family was waiting at home for me to return. So I simply walked out...never to return.

Now, in case the owner is reading this, after decades in client service let me tell you how you should have handled this and how you should handle it next time. If you had done this, I'd be back a few times a month.

First, you should have apologized. You did not. Second, my pizza or not, the one that you had waiting for me, you should have given me, for free. And then you should have said, "What is your home address? I'll make your pizza for you now, and we'll deliver it."

So instead of me walking out empty handed, I would have had SOMETHING to feed my waiting family (in addition to the other hot food I had picked up before stopping at your store), AND then in about 45 minutes you or one of your people would be dropping off THE PIZZA I HAD ORDERED at my door.

That's how you...

Never Again! We have been here a few times, they are pricey but usually good. Today we decided to get delivery. At 6:30 I called to place an order to Stromboli, one as it comes, the other no Italian Sausage, no onion, add ground beef. The gentleman taking the order got it mixed up a few times on the phone but after me saying it and him repeating it SEVEN times, I thought we were on the same page. He then asked someone to tally it up so he could give me a total. He repeated the order to that person perfectly. When it arrived an hour later at 7:30 (he said it would take an hour, so that's fine)...it was exactly as it comes...not as I ordered it. I called to let them know and was greeted with the same man who took the order trying to tell me that I didn't ask for them to leave off the Italian sausage and onions...he stopped and asked what they could do. I would like it replaced. He put another gentleman on the phone who verified the order, the address and the phone number. It is now 9:00 and they are closing. I guess they decided that we dont need the dinner that I already paid for. Terrible terrible customer service. They made an error, promised a correction, and left me waiting hours for the replacement that never arrived. You've lost a...

I called and spoke to a woman, and asked her what was on the cheesesteak pizza, and whether not of had cheese sauce or marinara sauce. She told me they put on marinara sauce and I was happy with that. I asked her if I could have mushrooms instead of peppers and she said yes, and I was also happy about that. Told me to come pick it up in about 30 minutes. I live five minutes away, so I left about 20 minutes later, stopped in Winn-Dixie to grab some soda, and went down the hall to the pizza place. I opened the box, and I noticed there was no sauce on the pizza. Told the girl and she said in Spanish to the cook, why is there no sauce on the pizza. He then gave me a container with sauce. They did not even ask me if I wanted them to make me a new pizza. But because it was my birthday the girl gave me five garlic rolls, again like I said I live five minutes away. When I got home the pizza was cold so was the sauce so I put the sauce in the microwave to heat it up and put it on the pizza. If the pizza was warm when I got home, I would've given it a four at best. Even if it wasn't my birthday, at least you can put the sauce on there like you said you did over the phone. Very first and very last time that I will eat...

I’ve been to Number One New York Pizza several times, and every time I pull up—it’s crowded. Doesn’t matter if it’s early evening or late night, the spot stays busy. But honestly? That’s how you know it’s good. This place is just a few blocks from my hotel in Manhattan, and even though I’ve been staying in the area since 2016, it took me a minute to actually check it out. Glad I did. Now it’s a regular stop. Menu’s got all kinds of slices—plain cheese, pepperoni, sausage, veggie, you name it. My go-to is two cheese slices to go, and it never disappoints. Classic New York slice, crispy crust, cheesy, flavorful. And the price is solid for being in the heart of the city. No tourist trap prices here. Inside seating is technically available, but it fills up fast. Outside seating is your best bet if the weather’s right. Otherwise, grab it to go and keep it moving. This isn’t the kind of place you chill for an hour—it’s a classic grab-and-go NYC pizza stop. But that’s the vibe. Pro tip: if you see a crowd, don’t get discouraged. The line moves quick, and the pizza’s worth the wait. Great food. Affordable prices. Iconic New York energy.

2 stars. One for being polite and the other for being fast. I ordered from No. 1 New York Pizza recently. The service was fast—less than 5 minutes—and the woman who took my order was very polite. Unfortunately, the stromboli was really disappointing. The dough was undercooked and gummy, and the meat had a strange texture that reminded me of meals I had to eat just to survive during harder times. Also, there's hardly any cheese in it. Just because the locals love it doesn’t mean it’s good. This didn’t feel like New York pizza at all—more like something rushed and low-quality. I’m not asking for a refund, but I do hope they take this feedback seriously, because it has potential to be much better. On a side note, they had horchata on the menu—which is unusual for a pizza shop—but I didn’t try it. The inside was fairly clean, your typical pizza shop setup. They also offered beef patties and something called a “Mexican pizza.” If you care about soda options, they serve Pepsi here, which I personally prefer.

This place has the yummiest gyro I ever had. Not only was it delicious it was so filled that when I ate it pieces fell atop the fries and I was blessed with another scrumptious side of gyro fries. The Mediterranean Pizza was so cheesy, the tomatoes juicy and crust crunchy such perfection. The gentleman that took my order over the phone was super kind too. I ordered a Mediterranean Pizza and a Gyro deluxe mouthwatering photos included!
