I hate to update my review like this, but just ate at the Oval Office for the first time in 3 years and it left much to be desired. The burgers are still phenomenal, not the best in the state, but close to the best in the town. Everything else we ordered left a lot to be desired. We’ll start with the good and go down hill. The onion rings were good and crispy, but the portion for a large order was a total of 5 onion rings which was pretty disappointing. The fried mushrooms were horrible. Keyword there was MUSH. because that’s exactly what they were. Threw most of them away the sweet potato fries in 2 orders and the curly fries in the third order were all Luke warm and soggy… threw most of those away. Outside of that, if you just order burgers and overpay for onion rings then the food will be amazing.
They need to do some internet updating as the available online menus are way outdated and the prices have changed drastically. The overall meal for the 3 of us was $16 more than what was on the online menus we found.
I am curious to try the wings, and I’ll probably get another burger, I hope it was just an off night for the restaurant, and they aren’t declining as they ride the coat tails of their best of...
Read moreIt was my husband & my first time there and while I LOVE the vibe + customer service, the food wasn’t all that. Maybe for a drunk night and greasy food is need, but normally? Nope.
My hubs got the all famous “Legendary Myrtle Burger” & he couldn’t finish it. The burger was cooked correctly, however, it was pouring grease which soaked the bun. There was a copious amounts of sautéed onion which honestly was the main reason for it being so greasy. Hubs said the burger wasn’t seasoned and his fries didn’t taste salted either.
I got a cheese burger and I mean, it was good, but not like memorable. Tbh, BK gots a more flavorful burger. I agree about the fries, they weren’t salted.
We did like the jalapeño ranch though!
But by all means, this is OUR personal review. It’s a family owned business who’s been around for a long time. So their food has to be amazing for...
Read moreAWESOME!!! Had the Myrtle Burger. Was juicy, well seasoned, and DELICIOUS, paired with the sweet potato fries. Cooks had the burger up faster than fast food, brought it right to me. The juice from the burger was so good I soaked my sweet potato fries in it to give them a little extra.
Atmosphere is friendly, prices are about the same as hitting a fast food joint, FOR ACTUAL FOOD COOKED TO ORDER, and the location is small and tucked away, but still on a main street, so it feels like a homey atmosphere when you walk in.
Staff was very welcoming, from the server to the cooks, even others that walked in that seemed to possibly be managers or owners, all said hi.
DEFINITELY coming back, and bringing my crew with me when we're working so I can buy them a solid meal in between...
