Had dinner there around 6:00 PM. It was something I wish I could forget. What looked like a nice, clean place from a distance appeared dirty, at least the floor next to where I was sitting was dirty. It wasn't a case of a few crumbs from the previsous people sitting there before, it appeared to be a build up over time as it was very noticeable.
One of my dinner companions ordered the Veal Parm dinner, the Veal was clearly a frozen breaded piece of Veal, she only had one option when it came to the Pasta selection, Spaghetti. No Garlic Bread and the pasta was cold.
My other companion ordered breakfast (two Eggs sunnyside up with ham and a side order of sausage, eggs were very small and hard. The slice of Ham was at least 2 inches think and cold, he had ordered buttered toast, the butter on the toast was also an inch thick. The side order of Sausage were not the typical breakfast links, but the big thick Italian Dinner Sausages.
I had a Bacon Omlette and when I asked about Cheese they told me none of our Omelette's comes with Cheese unless you ask for it. I told them that an Omelette without Cheese is just scrambbled eggs, as the menu didn't say what kind of Cheese was available. I also ordered a side order of Bacon, it was an odd combination of burnt parts, but also under cooked parts on the same piece of Bacon.
We ordered a side of Onion Rings,as an app they to were the thick frozen kind thrown in oil and served without being placed on parchment paper to drain, they were soggy.
Maybe it was the cook, I don't know? We found the meal a bit pricey $42.00 Dollars, for eggs, season bacon and frozen breaded Veal & frozen Onion Rings.
Sugarmill Woods Family Restraunt, here is how you improve your place, sweep the floor, make homemade from scratch food, it may take a little longer, but your customers will appreciate the effort, nothing beats hot fresh homemade food, especially homemade onion rings and fries.
Our experience may have been a one off thing, we are going to give them a second chance, lets hope...
Read moreWe went here with my parents on the advice of their friends. The restaurant was very busy as apparently is typical. Like many reviewers, I do not know why other than the cheap food price. The food is very dated. The restaurant is a great candidate for "Restaurant Impossible". It appears to be poorly managed. The owner barks orders and demeans his waitstaff. He complains to them about not turning over tables fast enough. Despite the perceived delay, there were two hosts at the front counter who just stood around and watched the over worked waitresses without every lending any assistance. We think the hosts were the owner's children The owner even orders his customers to move out of the way in the over crowded establishment.
The food was bland at best. The only vegetable option with an entree was canned green beans that reminded me of my high school cafeteria; they have not improved with age. The menu needs serious updating, the menu is stuck in the 1970's and the management is stuck in an even earlier decade.
I would have rated the restaurant only one star, if it had not been for our waitress. She was very good and maintained a cool head despite being scolded by the owner at least twice. She was friendly with a good sense of humor-making the best of a stressful work...
Read moreFriendly staff. Lately that's about it. I usually eat there three of four times a week. In the past month or so the food has gotten to be horrible. One evening I ordered hot roast beef and gravy. The gravy was horrible. Left a very bad after taste as well. I also love my liver and onions. Have had to send it back to finish cooking. Then last night I ordered the seafood platter. They allow you to pick three items. I ordered the haddock, clam strips and the crab cake and french fries as well. When I got my order every thing was way over cooked. Not too mention they gave me shrimp not clams. I brought it to the waiters attention he then said he would get me clam strips. The french fries were hard and cooked in very old oil. What they call a crab cake is a joke. Tasted like mush. All filling. Then my waiter brings me my clam strips. They were so over cooked I couldn't even eat them. For this I paid over $12.00 for. I will not...
